Chapter 13: Searching and Changing Paces

As they stood on the roof of Lance's building, they searched through piles and piles of maps that could possibly lead to where Jack the Ripper was hiding out. The possibilities were endless, there were too many places for him to hide, and it would be far too easy for him to blend into the large crowds.

The thought of not being able to find Jack the Ripper worried Keith. He was beginning to think that him and Lance won't be able to it all on their own. It was the bitter, feeling of failure scratching at his skin, telling him they won't succeed, telling him that he will never be able to avenge his mother's death.

"Spidey, relax. We'll find him. We just need to go about this the right way. We still have three more weeks before he skips town." Keith sighs, his gaze moving to his boyfriend who was staring at maps, marking off less probable places for Jack to hide.

"I know, but what if someone else gets hurt in that time. What if he hurts another family by killing someone? That's on us for not catching him fast enough." Keith's breath begins to get away from him as Deadpool walks over to him, tugging him into his arms.

"Breathe, Baby. You need to stop and think. Use that big brain for the right thing. We know what he looks like, and we know his type. We also know that he is more likely to strike at night in the evening. If you burn out before we can find him, when we do you won't be able to fight. You need to keep your strength and keep calm. Do you trust me?" Keith nods, following Deadpool's words as he begins breathing again.

"I'm good now. Thank you. I just... why are there so many horrible people in the world?" Deadpool gasps lightly at Spiderman's words, sadness bleeding into his veins from the sad words coming from his boyfriend.

"I don't know. But we are going to stop them all. Okay? I will not give up." Keith smiles under the mask, nodding at Deadpool.

"Okay. Now, where should we patrol and check out tonight? I'm in the mood for a fight." The residual anger from his fight with Shiro this morning was still on his mind. Sure, Lance helped to distract him from it and calm down but that doesn't mean the emotions were gone.

"Lower district has been acting odd over the last few days. We could clear out a few warehouses, bust some drug deals." Keith nods, pulling up the map of lower.

"Okay, so there's about sixteen warehouses over the four-block radius. If we keep quiet and hit one at a time, we should be able to get everyone busted and call the cops after, we don't want them alerting the other warehouses about their arrival, it'll but the deals before we can stop them all." Deadpool nods, grabbing a red marker and circling the attack location.

"Okay, we'll start on the opposite side of here and work our way back so that we can just come home afterwards and cool off. Then we can work out where to go next. But we can still take care of crime on our way back. Does that sound okay?" Keith nods,

"Yeah. You ready to go?" Deadpool stands up, hands on his hips all cocky.

"Always, Baby Boy." The nickname causes Keith to blush under the mask. It was nothing new, he was once used to Deadpool's antics, but now that he was dating the boy under the mask, everything was different. Even patrol was different. They were never thorough like this, just meeting up and going for their races to get to scenes first, always just randomly picking.

"Let's go already." Keith sighs, standing up, tucking the map away in a pocket slit. Deadpool clicks his tongue, sighing.

"Not yet. There's just one thing I want to do before we go." Keith groans, walking over to Deadpool and standing in front of him.
