Chapter 18

Nicole woke up early to a bit of pain in her stomach. "Alright, Mommy's up." Nicole rubbed her stomach.

Peter woke up and sat up. "Stomach hurt?" he asked.

"Yes." Nicole sighed. "Our little bean won't let me sleep past nine." she laid back down and through the covers over her face and closed her eyes.

Peter uncovered Nicole, "Get some more sleep for me darling. I'll be in the living room when you wake back up." Peter said and kissed Nicole then got up and walked out of his room, shut the door and came out into the living room and sat on the couch with his aunt. "Good morning, Aunt May." Peter grinned.

"Good morning you." May smiled and hugged Peter. "Where's Nicole?" she wondered.

"I'm letting her get some more sleep. Little bean woke her up when she wasn't ready to get up." Peter explained, gesturing towards his closed bedroom door.

"Aww then we better let her rest." May said.

Peter nodded in agreement.

"While she's asleep I'd like to give you a few things." Aunt May smiled and held Peter's hand in hers and pulled rings out of her pocket and placed them in Peter's open hand. "They were mine and Ben's now they are yours and Nicole's." May wiped a tear from her cheek, she was so proud of Peter for finding the right one.

Peter put the rings in his pocket and stood up and hugged his aunt. "Thank you, Aunt May." Peter kissed his aunt on her cheek and came to his room and found Nicole sitting up in the bed with her phone out, she was sending a message to Megan.

Nicole: Hey. How's it going?

Megan: I'm doing good and so is the baby.

Megan sent a picture of her first ultrasound picture.

Nicole: Aww how sweet ❤

Nicole smiled and put her hand on her stomach. She looked up as Peter sat down next to her. Nicole laid her head on Peter's shoulder and he wrapped his arm around her shoulder.

"Are you ready to start packing?" Peter asked, looking at Nicole and cupping his hands around her cheeks and kissed her.

"Yes." Nicole nodded and got up and came over to the dresser and started emptying the drawers.

Peter stuck his hand in his pocket and felt the rings and smiled to himself. Peter came over to where Nicole was and helped her gather the rest of their stuff that was in the drawers.

There was a knock at the front door and Aunt May answered the door, it was Daryl. "Hey." May hugged Daryl. "She's in there packing." May pointed towards Peter's room.

"Thanks." Daryl smiled and walked into Peter's room and came up behind his sister and tapped her on the shoulder.

Nicole gasped and turned around then realized it was only Daryl and hugged him. "Don't scare the pregnant lady." Nicole laughed and crossed her arms.

Daryl playfully held his hands up in surrender. "Whoa, don't want the pregnant girl's wrath." he laughed.

"Good." Nicole playfully pushed Daryl.

Peter and Daryl laughed.

"I came to check on her." Daryl said and looked at Peter.

"She's doing great. We just started packing." Peter grinned.

"Looks like I'm staying to help." Daryl looked around.

"We'd like that." Nicole smiled as she handed the sonogram to Daryl to let him see. Daryl smiled down at the sonogram picture.

Daryl, Peter, and Nicole spent post of the day packing all their belongings and Daryl and Peter loaded the moving boxes into the back of the truck Daryl drove over there. Everyone got in the truck and Daryl drove to Nicole and Peter's new house. They all got out and Nicole took a seat on the front porch.

"It's a nice house." Daryl admired the outside of the house.

"Thanks." Nicole grinned.

Daryl and Peter unloaded all of the boxes and placed them in the living room. Nicole stood back and told Peter and Daryl where she thought things should go while the boys did as she said, that took a few hours. "All done." Peter sighed and sat next to Nicole on the couch.

Daryl, Peter, and Nicole spent a few minutes talking about the new house and about the baby. Daryl left after that. Nicole and Peter sat there in silence for a bit while Peter gathered up his courage to take the next big step. Peter stood up and held his hand out. "Would you like to dance with me?" he asked, smiling.

Nicole gave Peter a confused look and took Peter's hand. "Alexa play Speechless by Dan and Shay." The music started playing and Peter grabbed Nicole's hand and put his other hand on her waist and they slow danced for a little while. Nicole sunk herself into Peter's chest as they continued to sway back and forth to the music.

"You know I love you right?" Peter gazed into Nicole's eyes.

"Yes, of course." Nicole smiled and smoothed her hand over Peter's soft cheek.

"Nicole, you're the best thing that has ever happened and now we have a baby we are going to bring into this world and I couldn't be happier." Peter started pouring his heart out to the woman he loved most.

Nicole backed up so she could look Peter in his eyes. "What are you saying?" She gasped.

Peter took a deep breath and got on one knee. "Nicole Rose Dixon? Will you do the extraordinary honor of marrying me? I love you so much darling, you mean so much to me and that would mean the whole world to me." Peter bit his lip and showed Nicole the 24k diamond ring he had in his pocket as he waited for Nicole to answer.

Nicole tried to keep the tears from falling. "Yes." she nodded and kissed Peter.

Peter cried tears of joy as he hugged his fiance. He knelt down and kissed Nicole's stomach, "Daddy loves you."

Peter and nicole came into there room and sat on there bed. "Are you tired Mrs. Parker? Peter asked.

Nicole blushed. "Yes. But give me a few minutes." she smiled.

Nicole pulled out her phone and messaged Megan.

Nicole: Girl the best thing just happened to me 😍🥰

Megan: What's that? 🤭

Nicole: Peter just asked me to marry him and I said yes. 😍 I'm engaged! 😭💕

Megan: awww
Me too Carl asked me a few days ago 🤭💕

Nicole: That's so sweet

Nicole put her phone on the charger and snuggled up next to Peter. "So, Megan got engaged too. Carl asked her a few days ago." Nicole told Peter.

"Aww that's great. Peter smiled.

"It is." Nicole yawned and covered her self up. "Good night, Peter." she smiled sleepily and drifted off to sleep.

"Good night, darling." Peter whispered and kissed his sleeping fiance on her forehead.

Peter fell asleep with his hand on Nicole's stomach all night.
