Chapter 21

Four months later

Nicole woke up to the baby kicking her hard in the ribs. "OUCH!" Yes, good morning, Clementine, mommy is up." Nicole sat up in bed and rubbed her huge stomach.

Peter sat up. "She kicking?" Peter asked, rubbing his eyes.

"Yes, she kicked me in the rib." Nicole pouted. She hugged Peter. "That seems to be her favorite spot." Nicole whispered into Peter's shoulder.

"Aww." Peter rubbed Nicole's back.

Peter and Nicole came out into the living room and sat on the couch. Nicole got a message, it was from Megan.

Megan: Hey. We'll be there in a few minutes. I'm so excited for our baby shower 😍

Nicole: So am I 😌 everyone should be here soon so we need the boys to get to work. Lol

Megan: Agreed.

Nicole put her phone away and held her hands out, "Could you help me up?"

Peter stood up and gently helped Nicole stand up from the couch. There was a knock at the door and Peter opened it, it was Carl and Megan. They came in and Megan sat on the couch with Nicole while Carl and Peter prepared food for the baby shower.

There was another knock at the door. Peter flipped from the kitchen to the front door in one swift movement and answered the door, it was Tony and T'Challa. They brought gifts and decorations for a boy and a girl with them. "Friday, say hello. Come help decorate." Tony spoke to his AI.

"Of course, sir." Friday appeared and came over to Carl and tapped him on the shoulder. "How can I-" she started but Carl cut her off.

"You scared me." Carl looked shocked.

"I'm sorry." Friday spoke.

Peter looked, "Oh, that's Friday. She's Mr. Stark's AI assistant." Peter explained.

"That's actually pretty cool." Carl looked at Friday. "You can help me put up blue balloons on the left side of that table." Carl told Friday and pointed to the already partly decorated table.

"Of course." Friday nodded and put up the balloons.

Stark was helping Peter put up the girl decorations. "Looks good, kid." Tony told Peter.

"Thank you, Mr. Stark." Peter grinned.

Tony noticed Nicole having a braxton hicks contraction and came over to her. "You're alright." Tony reassured her.

"Clementine, baby." Nicole spoke weakly through the pain.

Peter rushed over to Nicole. "Are you alright??" he looked worried as he helped her sit down.

"She's fine, Peter. She only had a braxton hicks, it's normal." Tony explained. "Continue setting up me and Friday will watch over her." Tony promised.

Peter nodded and kissed Nicole on her forehead and went back to setting things up. Setting up took what felt like forever but it was finally done after an hour and a half.

Daryl showed up a few minutes later and knocked on the door. Friday answered the door. "Welcome." she said. Someone else walked in with Daryl, it was Glenn. Nicole didn't notice Daryl had showed up she was focused on looking around at the decorations.

Daryl came up to Nicole. "Look who I ran into." he said.

Nicole looked, "Oh my gosh! Glenn!" Nicole grinned and stood up and hugged Glenn.

"Hey." Glenn laughed. "Congratulations." he motioned at Nicole's huge stomach.

"Oh, thank you." Nicole blushed.
