“I hear the reporters are all over you, are you hiding from them?” Elena asked when they settled on the furry white sofas in Elena's office.
“For now yes. I won’t want to put my current employer in jeopardy.” Amanda replied she was right. Getting away from her celebrity life for a while was her idea and get an office job was also her choice but not she couldn't clearly tell which one was better for her anymore because of how complicated it started to be.
“The fact that you now work in a person’s company is preposterous. Brid, why did you let her do that?” Elena asked the same question Bridget has been asking herself.
“I wouldn’t have if she had told me before getting the Job.” Bridget defended, facing Amanda and raising her eye brows.
“You girls don’t get it.” Amanda cut in, hopping to end their argument.
“No we do. You and Troy got off on a wrong foot and the reporters are hunting you but you can’t hide forever Amanda.” Elena voiced calmly.
“True, you’re still going to face them sooner or later.” Bridget added.
“I know. I’ve spoken to Kate; the reporters are off my back for now. The moment I get back to LA, I’ll invite the press and set things straight.
“Hmm, I’m only worried.” Elena took Amanda’s hands briefly then exhaled. Elena wanted more than anything for things to get better for Amanda. Elena tapped gentle on the back of Amanda's palm then smiled
Elena released her friend's hand and attended to the next reason for their visit “So Brid, I have the free samples you requested for your bridal train and also this catalogue are filled with various design.” She handed Bridget the catalogue “Please, let’s move to the dressing room.”
Amanda and Bridget both followed Elena into the VIP dressing room. Elena called it VIP cause; it could only be accessed through her office. Which means, only people close to Elena could have the privilege of entering the room
Amanda looked around and was impressed. She sat on a love seat next to Bridget, looking at the catalogue Elena had given to Bridget earlier while Elena made a call.
She opened to a page with photos of models on wedding gowns and immediately, she got lost insight of them.
Amanda wished dreamingly it would be her on one of those gowns someday. She thought of a future with Troy, she remembered their conversation about how their wedding was going to look like; they talked about Paris being the perfect destination for their honeymoon. They even went further to talk about kids. Amanda knew he was the one, every piece fit perfectly. Then, she realized fairy tales like that only happens in movies. But now was not the time to remember bad times, she had to be happy for Bridget.
She raised her head when a lady walked into the room with a bottle of champagne in a bucket of ice with three empty wine glasses She dropped the bucket of ice on the table and poured the champagne into the glasses, she gave one to her boss, one to Amanda and one to Bridget. She stood at the corner while other two ladies and a gentleman walked in, one of the ladies carrying a small box.
“Bridget, we need to take your measurement now and why is Louis not here yet?” Elena asked.
“Uhm, he’s supposed to be –" Bridget held her tongue when her fiance walked through the door.
