Amanda got down from Louis car and thanked him for the ride; she waved him goodbye as she watched him drove off.“Shit, he’s gonna be pissed.” She looked down at her watch; it was already 4:45pm.
Amanda ran into the Hall, apologizing to everybody she collided with on the cause of her running. Finally, she made her way into the library; she could see Mr. Christopher Adams already signing some books and at the look of the queue in front of him, Amanda could tell he was almost done.
She moved quietly over to Wright Junior’s side “I’m so sorry I’m late.” She whispered er apology so just him could hear her..
“What happened?” He ask with a straight face fixed on Mr. Adams, avoiding to look at her
“I was—“ She then was interrupted by Mr. Adams who called for Wright Junior’s attention.
Mr. Adams was done with his book signing and Amanda could hear him thank Junior for all the work and that he had to leave immediately because he had an appointment to keep.
Junior shook his hands and wished him a nice evening. Then, he ordered his personnel that came with him to clear up the area and as she watched him give orders, She was taken by his audaciousness and his manliness.
“How long is he going to torture me like this?” Amanda wondered but, she was the only one who could answer her own questions. She stared at him as he moved around showing his personnel were to keep the equipment. She thought it was best she sat and waited till he was done.
After a short while, he came over to where she sat. “Hey, how are you?” He asked like she had only just arrived. Amanda was forced to Wonder if he knew it was her when she came in the first time but, she killed he thought the moment he saw him take out a chair and sat close to her.
She could feel the vibration of his voice in her chest and this made it beat faster when he was close. “I—” She cleared her throat, “I’m fine.” She managed to say “I’m sorry I was late.” she apologized again.
“No, it’s fine. I thank God everything went well.” He simply told her.
They sat for a while without saying anything to each other and now it was Junior’s turn to stare at her. Sitting up close to her, he could observe everything than when they were at the office. He could easily notice her pretty pecan brown skin glow under the light which charmed him further, her sparkling brown eyes underneath her dark sweeping lashes and her adorable pixie nose framed by delicate scrolled ears. Junior observed her arched shaped eyebrows tilt a little when she found him staring at her and the sudden surprise of being caught forced him to look away but not for long. He was still able to nab a sight of her shy smile which revealed her beaming, angel-white teeth.
To him, Amanda was sculpted perfectly. She had always been curvy since high school but now, she was graciously sexy. Her midnight-black hair was parked in a smooth bun at the top, dropping little strands of hair at both sides of her face. The casual, cream, chiffon blouse tried it best to conceal her flawless figure but the pair of deep-blue, high waisted, jeans trouser she had on, fought to reveal her curvilinear waist. She had about her an elegant personality, which was accompanied by her signature black, bold and beautiful look and even he acknowledged that.
He looked down at his phone after hearing it buzz; he got comfortable on his seat and tapped his phone screen.
“Work?” She asked in her most soothing voice.
He raised his head from his phone to look at her “No.” He smiled “It’s my birthday today and I can’t stopped getting this HAPPY BIRTHDAY text.” He exhaled, resting his back on the backrest while he watched Amanda bring out her phone from her purse.
