Pari cried loudly this time, initially her cries were like a mewl, similar to a kitten, but then she cried loudly.

Shehnaaz panicked seeing her like that and Sidharth did too. "Pari! Pari!", Shehnaaz cooed.

"Mera bachcha kyun ro ra hai?", Shehnaaz asked lovingly, the last ounce of energy completely leaving her body.

She shut her eyes for a moment and then said, "Ek baar Pari ko utha lun?", she asked Dr. Anaya.

"Shehnaaz you know, you can not!", she said.

"Please...", she pleaded.

"Ho sakta kabhi utha na paaun, ho sakta hai ki apni bachchi ko pehli aur aakhri baar utha rahi hun!", Shehnaaz said with a cracked voice.

"Shehnaaz kyun Bakwaas kar ri hai?", Sidharth said harshly as if he wanted to just slap her across the face.

"I can feel it!", Shehnaaz muttered, looking nowhere in particular, making his heart break.

For the first time since she had known the risks this pregnancy came with, she felt scared.

Scared was a small word, she was petrified. Earlier, she did know about her not being able to survive, but she had coaxed herself thinking that Sidharth will have Pari and she will have Sidharth.

But now, when she saw their daughter, crying loudly, wailing her little arms and Sidharth's broken self, she was scared.

She didn't want to die, she couldn't leave her little daughter and the love of her life, alone.

They had promised each other to be together for life and beyond, it was a forever deal, they both had vowed.

But Shehnaaz could see herself not being able to fulfill the vow. For the first time ever, she was so scared to die.

Shehnaaz didn't want to die, especially when she saw Pari. But she knew that if she had terminated this pregnancy, she would have died anyway.

She knew that, the reason she wanted to live some more was Pari and Sidharth. If Pari had been aborted, she might as well have died that day itself.

But here, in this scenario, they atleast had a chance of making Shehnaaz survive.

Dr. Anaya nodded. She knew that Shehnaaz may not make it out, women generally haven't. So, she obliged.

The doctor smiled as she put Pari on Shehnaaz's chest. She calmed down and Shehnaaz broke down, at the same time.

She was touching her daughter, her baby, whom she had nurtured in her body for over 7 months.

She felt that if she could, then she would keep Pari in her stomach for the whole life so that she could protect her little daughter.

Dr. Anaya kept Shehnaaz's hand on her daughter's body and as she touched her bloody sticky body, she cried with her eyes closed.

Sidharth, meanwhile looked at his daughter with fascination. He looked the way she snuggled into Shehnaaz.

He couldn't fail to notice how she stopped crying as soon as her tiny body made contact with Shehnaaz.

It seemed as if their daughter already knew and recognised who her mother was.

Sidharth gently touched her body with one of his finger, making her squirm on Shehnaaz's chest.

He then, with a lot of courage, brushed her soft, covered with blood, back and smiled with blurry eyes.

He looked so tired and exhausted, if possible then more than even Shehnaaz.
