Chapter 6: The one who is changed

As the sunlight falls on Gauche' eye he wakes up agitated, but the moment he looked at the calendar, he was all cheered up. It was his day off.

He freshen up as soon as possible and dressed himself up to leave for the church but in this hurry, he overlooks the little mage and bumps into him.

Asta falls on the floor and grits his teeth, but calms down quiet soon and ask Gauche for the reason he was in such a hurry.

Gauche looks at him and says,"I am going to see Marie, why don't you come along." He thinks Marie will be extremely happy to see Asta and he pictures smiling Marie which caused his nose to bleed.

Asta initially refuses for he wanted to workout, but agrees when Gauche threatens him.

Asta and Gauche meet Marie outside the church waiting for her big brother, but to her surprise, there was another boy, with spiky hair, with small height, following him. When Marie looked carefully she realises, it was none other than Asta.

Marie plays with Asta, while Gauche looks at her smiling and laughing, there was nothing in the world that can make him happier.

After an hour, a rough voice calls Gauche, to come inside the church. He finds out it was sister Teressa. He looks at smiling Marie and thinks that even though they are on the street, with Asta, Marie was safe.

Gauche, walks inside the church just to see sister Teressa worried.

"What happened, are you going to die."

"No! You Brat, have some respect", Teressa changes her facial expressions and stands with dignity.

"For some strange reason, I could sense mana from Asta. But it is too negligible to notice. Being around this kids with low mana, I have adapted myself to it, therefore even a little bit of mana can be sensed by me."

"Isn't that a good thing"

"Maybe, but don't you think it is mysterious, Asta developing magic at this age, is not as simple as it seems, I am worried, it is not a good thing for Asta to have magic. Asta is what he is today, because of him not having any magic, this will definitely change him, I just hope, the change is not in a bad way. Tell me did he ask you all to leave him alone or went somewhere without telling for few hours"

Gauche thinks carefully, and remembers that Asta was insisting on training. He even stopped doing house chores, atleast started doing bare minimum. As Gauche thinks of Asta's sudden change in his behaviour, he just like Teressa got tense.

Seeing Gauche silent, Teressa continued,"your silence told me all I needed to know. If what I said is true that means he know, that he is developing mana and chose to hide it from you. And I don't think it in any way calm me down."

"Maybe he wants to surprise us"

Teressa sighs and open her mouth to say something but she heard a crash sound and Gauche and Teressa runs to see what had happened.

Marie was scared, Grey was covering her face with shame and Charmy was intense. Infront of them was a strange wall which was never there before. And behind that wall a broken cart laid.

It did not take Gauche much time to realise that the cart was going to hit Marie so Charmy created a cotton obstruction and Grey turned it into metal wall.

Gauche runs toward Marie and assures her that she was safe and need not be scared.

No matter what He said Marie was not calm atleast she was not from inside.

Charmy calls for her sheep and make them cook pastries for Marie. Seeing them she was atleast a little cheerful. Grey turned into Zora and says,"you brat, if something like this scare you, you cannot call yourself a magic knight sister."

Listening to this tears starts falling from Marie eyes and she apologized to Gauche for being broken down this easily. It was definitely a good idea but it angered Gauche and push grey, who was in disguise of Zora, to the very wall she created. Grey gets very shy and her magic was broken the wall turned back into cotton and she to her original form. She fall on the cotton with Gauche above her. Their lips touch each other and shy Grey turns into Asta.

Seeing Asta, Gauche remembers that he left Marie alone with him and he abandoned her so he stood up with anger and he was ready to kill Asta but a "whoosh" sound distracted him, he saw the sky was fill will with fire works and Marie was looking at it with amazement, it was as if all her worries was gone. He looked at Teressa and thanked her in his mind. And Teressa looked at Gauche and smiles as if she was accepting Gauche' thanks.

"Marie, it's already late we will take our leave alright."

Marie nods and bid farewell to Gauche,Grey and Charmy, "I will wait for you big brother." As the three black bulls faded as they walk away Marie, look towards the sky and jump cheerfully seeing the beautiful stars shining and the dazzling flames trying to reach them but breaks apart instead.

Gauche enters the hideout just to see Asta sleeping on the couch. He makes his fist but decides to discuss the situation with Yami first.

"Grey, why did you create the wall, Charmy's cotton would have easily stopped it." Gauche interrogates Grey.

"I wanted to save her too, I was scared that the cotton was not enough."

Gauche smiles and thinks,"on one hand the one who was supposed to keep her safe ran away and the rest did everything to save his sister." He planned to apologise to her but soon realised that they have kissed during the time he attacked her. So he decided to not talk about it, it was an accident anyway.
