Prologue

Annabelle Gilbert or Anne to her twin sister, or Belle to her friends, is a girl with the life she always dreamed until the accident. Before the accident she had the perfect parents that she love with all of her soul and heart.

Her mother always had the perfect advice to give her when she needed words of encouragement.

He father was an excellent doctor who, despite having a profession that demanded a lot from him, he always had time for his family.

An aunt she could always count on to have fun.

A younger brother that she adores and for whom she does everything. Annabelle is always ready to help her brother with everything he needs and Jeremy loves his two sisters more than anything but for him Annabelle is the sister he knows he can always talk to because she doesn't judge him.

A twin sister that Annabelle loved very much. Annabelle and Elena were twins who have always been close to the hip since they were born. They did nothing without one another. Both were cheerleaders at school, had the same friends, had fun together, laughed together and cried together. Whether it was sadness or happiness that one of them felt, the other twin could feel what the other felt, even when one of them was hurt the other felt the pain of her sister.

And finally Annabelle had her friends. Bonnie Bennet and Caroline Forbes her best friends. Annabelle and Bonnie had always been close and Caroline was always close to Elena. Matt Donovan her boyfriend. Jason Lancaster that she meet 3 years before the accident and that was Elena's boyfriend. Jason and Annabelle had a strong bond of brother and sister and Annabelle always said that Jason was her brother from another mother.

Then on a school night Annabelle and Elena blew of family night to go to a party with their friends and boyfriends. Annabelle and Matt had a fight and Elena didn't want to leave a sister alone because she wanted to be there for her sister. After she says her goodbye to Jason Elena finds Anna and she sees that her parents are waiting for them. Annabelle and Elena are in the car with their parents and passing the Wickery Bridge when their car drove off the bridge to the lake. Annabelle woke up in the hospital with her Aunt Jenna and her brother Jeremy by her side. When she asks for her parents she sees the tears in her aunt and brother's eyes and even without they tell her she knows that they are dead. Annabelle cries in pain for her parents death. Then she looks to her brother and aunt and says that she feels pain in her heart. She asks them for Elena because she needs to see her sister. Jenna starts to sob and Jeremy has tears running down his face. Annabelle looks to them and once again asks for Elena. Jenna seats on the bed next to her niece and takes a deep breath and says the words that Annabelle didn't want to hear.

"Sweetie, I... I'm sorry. Elena didn't survive." And it was that with this that Annabelle felt her world crumble. She looks at Jenna and her brother.

"No... no. It's not true." Says Annabelle to them. She tries to get out of the bed but Jeremy goes to her and stops her.

"Belle... Belle stop." Says her brother. Annabelle puts her and on her heart and feels like her heart is empty. She can feel that Elena is really dead. Then the door of her hospital room opens and they see Jason with a solemn expression and Annabelle can see that he had been crying and that's when she gives a scream of pain that some people in Mystic Falls, later said that had heard the scream and they can see the pain in that scream. That was the night that Annabelle lost 3 of the most important people in her life. After the funeral of her parents and sister Jason leaves Mystic Falls. He didn't want leave Belle alone but Belle knew that to him it was not easy. Elena was the love of his life. So after Jason leaves Belle spends her days in her house trying to be strong for her little brother. Jeremy starts to use drugs to forget the pain that he feels because of his parents and sister death. His relationship with Annabelle changes. He stops almost of talk to her because every time he looks to his sister he can only remember her scream of pain in the hospital and he can see that she blames herself. Jeremy never blame her but he doesn't know how to talk to her of his pain when he knows that she is in pain too.

The school is about to start and Annabelle can feel in her soul that something is going happen in this new school year that goes change her life. She still doesn't know if it's for better or not.
