For the first time since the accident that took the lives of her parents and sister, Belle wakes up with a smile. The time Stefan spent with her that night made her feel alive again. She seats in her bed and writes in her diary.
Dear diary:
This morning is...different. There is change. I can sense it, Feel it.

In the Boarding house Stefan is writing to in his diary and like Belle he woke up that day feeling alive for the first time in centuries.
"I'm awake. For the first time in a long time, I feel completely and undeniably wide awake."

"For once, I don't regret the day before it begins. I welcome the day... because I know... I will see him again. For the first time in a long time, I feel good."
After dress to the school Belle walks toward the kitchen. That's when Jenna stops her to ask her opinion before her niece goes downstairs.
"Do I look adult? As in respectfully parental?" Jenna asks her niece as she looks in the mirror in the hall.
"Depends where you're going." Replies Belle with a smile.
"Jeremy's parent-teacher conference. Hair up or down?" Jenna asks for help. When Jenna puts her hair up.
"Sexy stewardess." Says Belle to her Aunt. Jenna puts her hair down. "Boozy housewife." Jenna notes the change of attitude in Belle and is happy to finally see her niece with a real smile on her face.
"Up it is. You're feisty today." Says Jenna to Belle. She smiles at Jenna.
"I feel good, which is rare. So I've decided to go with it. Fly free, walk on sunshine, and all that stuff." Tells Belle to her aunt. Then she looks at his brother's room and sees that he is not in the room. "Where is Jeremy?" Asks Belle.
"He left early. Something about getting to wood shop early to finish a birdhouse." When Jenna spoken and sees the face of Belle (who looks at her aunt with a raised eyebrow), Jenna understands what it means. "There is no wood shop, is there?" Asks Jenna with a sigh.
"No." Says Belle to her Aunt before she goes downstairs.

In school Belle is inside the classroom she and Stefan exchange glances and smiles with each other.
"Originally discovered nearly 5 centuries ago, it hasn't been over mystic falls in over 145 years. Now, the comet will be its brightest right after dusk during tomorrow's celebration." Tanner sees that Stefan and Belle are distracted. "Are we bothering you, Mr. Salvatore? Ms. Gilbert?" With a shy smile Belle shakes her head and prepares for Mr. Tanner lecture. As if it were fate the doorbell rings making Belle feel relieved to leave Mr. Tanner's room. As she walks down the hall, Stefan gives her a book.
"I brought it. Told you." He tells her. Belle grabs the book and read the title.
"Wuthering heights by Ellis Bell. You know, I can't believe she didn't use her real name." Says Belle to Stefan.
"All the Bronte sisters used pseudonyms. It was the time. Female writers weren't very accepted then." He explains to her with a smile.
"Where did you get it?" She asks him returning to him the book.
"Uh, it was passed down. Through the family. Ah. I have lots of books. Go ahead. Keep it." He tells her when he sees that she is trying to give him the book back.
