Zhan stay rooted on his spot hardly making any sense of his father's statements until the meeting ended. The stipulation in his father's demand came out of nowhere. It was preposterous to say the least.

But, 'Goddamn it!' Xiao Zhan swore in extreme joy. He was as happy as a clam in the high tide. To stay next to Yibo is the most desirable situation he could ask for. While to assist him and be of use to achieve his success was another thing to feel exultant for. Whether it is for revenge or whatever, he will do anything for him.

He did not care about the pointless phrases of 'Good lucks' from the board members as they bid goodbye to him and left the room. The merit of earning their good side was one of the least things Zhan cares for. Whilst, other's sarcastic words implying Yibo and his' partnership was unlikely to be successful incited the fire in him.

Zhan knew he is a capable man. And exceeding expectations is his trade mark in his line of work.

But first...he need to gain his partner's trust. Not just in business matters. But mostly, Zhan aims to have a place in Yibo's heart.

Waiting patiently for everyone to take their leave, Zhan almost ran to Yibo's side when he had the chance. Yet, Haoxuan was clinging on to Yibo as if they were twins, jointed shoulder-to-shoulder.

Zhan's heart quivered from a blend of jealousy and resentment.

"Yibo." He said with gritted teeth and a tone of dominance, demanding for Yibo's attention.

Both Yibo and Haoxuan looked his way. The latter smiling widely at him, as if he was entertained by just the mere sight of Zhan. He looked at Zhan from head to toe, scrutinising his features. "Such a pretty man! No wonder the ladies compare you to my charms!" Haoxuan exclaimed extending his hand, "Mr. Xiao, it's nice to finally meet you in person! I've heard a lot about you. I am Wang Haoxuan. But just call me Haoxuan." There was a glint of either mockery or flattery in his voice, but Zhan has no time to delve on such trivialities. His cloying eagerness for introductions only made Zhan's eyebrows creased, but he abided with curt respect and civil handshake nevertheless.

Haoxuan's smile grew wider with the touch of their hands and within a millisecond, his lips almost touched Zhan's hand, if Yibo did not interfere, pulling Zhan's wrist away and pushing Haoxuan's body with too much vigor that he fell on the floor.

Yibo did not say a thing but his glare was enough for Haoxuan to understand he had gone overboard. "Ah. I'm just teasing you. Don't be too aggressive." Haoxuan chortled, standing up from the floor. He is not offended by Yibo's strong push, neither is he really sorry for stirring up trouble. Glancing at his watch, Haoxuan's face turned serious, "We've got a busy day, Mr. Wang. Finish your business quickly." He reminded Yibo, quirking his eyebrow between Zhan and Yibo, before he walked away while casually waving his hand at the two.

Zhan was flabbergasted with the minute drama. His heart was pounding hard in his chest seeing Yibo's hostile side. He couldn't believe his eyes how he had pushed Haoxuan without an ounce of worry whether he'll injure him seriously or not. While contrastingly, Yibo's warm hand on his wrist remained delicate and gentle.

"Yibo." Zhan summoned Yibo's heed, tugging on the younger's sleeve. But Yibo's eyes remained darted on the trail Haoxuan had walked off to. His jaws were still tensed and his eyes are still burning in anger.

Zhan couldn't help but let out a soft laugh. He couldn't believe this emotionless man can show that deathly aura. "Were you jealous?" He spat, not really thinking what would be the consequence of his words.

His laugh came into an abrupt stop as Yibo's earlobes turned crimson, saying while his back is still facing Zhan. "I am."

It was such a soft whisper that Zhan thought he had definitely heard wrong. "What did you say?" He asked in disbelief.

Yibo spun around to face Zhan, eyes almost begging, "Don't let anyone touch you."

Zhan's mouth dropped wide open as did his eyes. To hear something like that so suddenly and unexpectedly from the man who had avoided him for several weeks, made him thought everything was just a dream. Or maybe he is hallucinating and had gone mad!

Yibo retracted his hands from Zhan's wrist, feeling his own heartbeats pacing as quick as his Zhan-ge's. "I-I have to go." He stuttered, collecting his embarrassment as he dashed out of the room. But before the door closes, he vaguely said, "I'll see you later, Zhan-ge."

Zhan had to clutch his chest and settle on a chair as he replayed what he had seen and heard from Yibo. He was thankful the roots of his hair are still strong, or else he had lost a handful of hair from pulling it in daze.

"Later?"

Zhan's lips turned upwards, nodding absent-mindedly on his own.

"I'll see you later, Bo-di." He singed with too much joy, not even having a clue how he would be seeing Yibo again later that day.
