Dark Light

CHAPTER SIX

And it begins...

Darkness sighed when it was finally able to increase to its original form. The surge of power spreading through it. However, its attention was soon captured by another entity near it. Darkness tilter its head as it studied the other entity. Color rippling through the entity's body, its eyes changing shade so quickly as if it was unsure of which color would suite it the best.

"Where did you bring me?" Light demanded.

"There, there. No need to get so hostile" Darkness chuckled, "We are the edge of all worlds. This place has no name nor a location"

"And why did you bring me here?"

"Well, you're annoying me on Earth and I need you scram away" Darkness replied, barely paying attention to the entity in front of him who was fuming with rage. The concoction of color around it, concentrated to several shades of vibrant red. Light shot a beam of light toward Darkness. It grazed past Darkness' form. Their power can have two types of effect depending upon their intentions, if laced with hatred, or anger or despise, their power acts like burning acid to each other. Otherwise, it's like a soothing ointment.

Darkness hissed in pain after the beam gaze past its mighty form. Leaving behind thin silvery trail.

"I was getting to the fight part but whatever" Darkness muttered before attacking Light with a wave of overwhelming darkness. Light was able to dodge the attack however it didn't expect for the wave to leave behind trails of itself. So, when Light touched the ground, it groaned in pain. Its feet turning a shade of dark grey.

"You're on Earth?" Light asked, "How did you even find me?"

"Um, possibly cause I'm stronger than you. Though I still haven't found your exact location. But I will" Darkness lied.

Light opened its shroud to protect itself from Darkness's attacks.

"One more thing, we don't belong in this place. It's meant for all the fading essence of life or any other form. They feed on anything that has more power than themselves. So, the longer we stay here, the more essence they draw from us until we fade to oblivion. So, let's avoid all the hassle and you leave Earth" Darkness spoke.

Light's formed flickered with rage as it shot another blinding beam. This time, Darkness stepped back a little and disappeared leaving Light completely confused.

"You know nothing of this place, do you?" Light shot again when it heard Darkness' voice come from behind it.

"Where are you coward? Come forth!" Light growled.

"What are you talking about? I'm right beside you" Darkness replied, appearing a few steps aside of Light's left. But before Light could strike once again, Darkness' form disappeared once again.

"We're surrounded by mist, Light" Darkness spoke, it's voice echoing around, "We can only see as far as a few steps. Beyond that, nothing is visible"

Light's color slowly changed from red to back to several different shades combing and dispersing throughout its form. Darkness appeared once again, but this Light didn't attack right away. Darkness noted that Light wasn't as bright as it should be, the mist around them was suppressing its power. So, if it was happening to Light, it must happen to Darkness as well. It felt weaker as time passed, the presence around it wasn't as tenebrous as usual.

"I'm not leaving Earth just so that you can rule over it and watch it fall into an abyss" said Light, sparks of light shooting out of its body.

"Oh, I'll make you" Darkness replied. Its voice was like the magma chamber of a volcano, deep but filled entirely with molten rock. Its voice was deep and even like the night. So powerful it would make bones feel like they were vibrating.

Dark nebulae swirled around Darkness' form before those smoke clouds charged towards Light. The other entity cried out in anger when it felt itself get trapped with them. Darkness used this opportunity to send more waves of intense dark waves forward. Light cried from the burning sensation. Dark grey marks forming over its brightly colored body.

Light's color changed to shades of violet. The glow around it growing brighter until all the nebulae were dispersed.

"A little longer" Darkness stated, jumping up when Light sent several rays towards it. However, it missed a few which burned through its body, leaving behind long silver trails.

"A little longer what?" Light asked.

"We can stay here a little longer" Darkness replied.

"Why do you care if I essence is completely destroyed? That's exactly what you want"

"Because if I leave, I'll have to take with me or else I won't be able to leave either"

Darkness felt it forms grow smaller and weaker. The wandering souls have been feeding from them for long enough. It saw that Light too was weakening in its power, but it still remained strong enough and Darkness couldn't ward off its presence from Earth. But if they continued the fight a little longer, Darkness might not have enough power left to transport back to Earth. The souls voice growing louder as they fed off the two galactic entity. 

"I'll see you again" Darkness muttered. 

Their forms transformed in brightly colored and menacingly dark smoke before disappearing from the edge of the worlds. The lingering souls crying out when their food vanished from their reach.
