It gets harder every day
Darkness sighed when it found itself in the familiar settings of the Edge of the World. It's hasn't even been a week properly when they last came here. Nevertheless, Darkness looked around in search of the one who brought him here.
Darkness strut across the pillars, with Light nowhere in sight. So, it closed its eyes and let its power flow to detect the presence of the other. Or, maybe any other creature that resides here.
But just as it did so, it felt something charging towards it. Darkness barely had the time to dodge. And even though, Darkness moved away, it was still too close to whatever that passed him. It left behind a burning sensation and when Darkness looked down, it saw a huge grey line running across its chest.
Immediately, Darkness turned to the direction from where it came, spotting three more of those things coming towards him. Quickly Darkness knelt down, its power seeping through its fingers and down to the ground. Just before those things could come in contact with him, a huge wall of shadow blocked them.
Darkness panted as it reached forward to study the weapon that was being thrown at him. It at first, didn't recognize what it was. Because as it lied on the ground, it appeared like small daggers, Darkness was sure that when it grazed past, they appeared at least a foot long.
Darkness let it fingers hover a few centimeters above them. It gasped and retracted its hands immediately. Just being near to the thing made his fingers burn.
Frowning, Darkness stood back up and looked around. It was perplexing to Darkness, as to why Light wasn't visible. That was until it remembered a little trick that Light could use. Not all electromagnetic radiations are perceivable.
Darkness shifted in its form. A humanoid form. It turned completely black. Nebulae and starts and everything that existed in the dark side of the universe, swirled in side its eyes. Vision as such was different. It wasn't how Darkness had grown used to see as humans. There were lot more colors. Lot more things that were now seen.
And of course, Darkness found Light. The other was just as humanoid as him. Sitting upon one of the structures with a grin on its face. Light had different forms, the younger they were the more mischievous they became. Those younger forms may not be as powerful as the other older forms, but they still had a lot to their advantages.
Wit and unpredictability being one of them.
And for once, Darkness wasn't obliged to match forms with the other. He knew there won't be any point to it. Light wouldn't engage in a close combat. It would hide behind the pillars, gaps between the structures and then attack.
It would be no surprise if there were several traps laid around the ground. But just because Light resembled a child, didn't mean Darkness could let it guards down. If it were stupid enough to do so, it would be like inviting your demise.
Darkness sighed and turned around when it heard giggles echoing off the structures. This was going to be more difficult and using anger as a way to trick Light won't work. If Darkness did try to anger the other, it would only create more problems.
Darkness moved its hands around, summoning further of its power before letting it spread throughout the ground. If Darkness couldn't fight the other face to face, it could set traps just like the other.
Another problem was, this child like form of Light, had a very close resemblance to Jimin. A lot reminded of Jimin. The round eyes, lips. Even the way Light giggled. It wasn't supposed to be the same.
"If I were you, which I thankfully am not, I would step aside." Darkness heard Light say.
Before Darkness had the chance to understand those words, a spiked clasp emerged out of the ground and wound themselves around Darkness' ankles. It groaned, as the spikes dug into its legs.
Growling, Darkness threw swirling nebulae all around itself. At least one would hit the target. And it did. A few moments, Light's cry echoed, giving a smile on Darkness' face.
It had a little amount of time before Light would attack again, so it moved quick. It ignored the pain as it broke the clasp around its ankles with its hand and hid behind one of the pillars.
"Why do you exist, Darkness?" Light's voice came, "No one needs you; no one likes you."
Darkness tried to ignore the words. It had to find the other and distract them, otherwise, Light's own conflicting feelings would weaken it.
"Stop existing already!" The childish spite in its voice was evident.
Darkness jumped up on the structures and looked around. It found Light strolling across, a few meters away from where it was. Immediately Darkness got down. But just as it feet touched the ground, explosion occurred all around it.
The light from the explosion left burns on Darkness's skin. Darkness tried its best to avoid the explosion, but there were so many of them, it was nearly impossible. The explosion, did little to hurt. It was simply very annoying. And Light's laughter did little to make Darkness less annoyed.
So, Darkness conjured up a small weapon. Even though, it was small, it still took up a lot of energy since the weapon was instinctive. Darkness only needed to say whom to attack and the weapon won't stop until it did so. However, Darkness was clear in its orders. Only to knock out Light and nothing else.
While the weapon went to do its work, Darkness moved to surround Light. It could still hear the other's taunting laughs.
"Darkness, whe- What's that?" It was followed by a scream and then everything went quiet.
Darkness sighed and went to look where Light. After some it, found the younger. This form of Light was exceptionally good at hiding.
"Why must you be so stubborn?" Darkness questioned to no one as it picked up the other.
It mumbled a few words under its breath before the pathways opened. And their bodies turned to smoke.
