A little bit of pink
Yoongi groaned, putting his aside and sitting up straight. He was bored out of his mind and it was just three in the afternoon. He wondered what Jimin would be doing since he hadn't heard a single sound coming from outside his room. When Yoongi walked out of his room, he noticed that Jimin was once again holding the bouquet in his hands. The younger was gently caressing the petals in his hand. He would do it for a little while before stopping as if thinking of something. He had the same concentrated expression on his face as earlier in the morning. Jimin sighed once again and let go of the bouquet.
"Jimin, is everything alright?" Yoongi asked, walking towards the younger and sitting on the sofa.
"Ye-yeah" Jimin stuttered out, as if trying to hide something and quickly put the bouquet aside.
Yoongi frowned, trying to think what would be the reason that Jimin seemed to unsatisfied for. He noticed that this time Jimin was holding the yellow bouquet in his hand instead of the blue one. He gasped a little finally understanding what Jimin as trying to do. And when he realized he felt sad for the other. Even though, Jimin was blind he could still get an identity of the size and shape of the objects around him. But there was one thing he could never get to sense.
Colors.
It was ironic. The one from whom all the colors came to birth was the one who couldn't see them. When he thought about it for a while, he suddenly came with an idea. He looked outside and saw the sun was still high up the sky in the late afternoon and luckily enough, the sunrays fell right where he need them to.
"Come with me" Yoongi said, standing up. He waited to see how Jimin would react, holding his hand out just close enough for the younger to sense its presence. The younger frowned a little, but nonetheless held Yoongi's hand for the elder to pull him up.
Yoongi inhaled sharply when he saw the color spread throughout his hand just by the contact. Nevertheless, he tore his eyes away from the spreading colors and focused what he wanted to do.
"What are you doing?" Jimin asked in an unsure voice.
"Do you want to see the colors?" Yoongi asked.
In an instant Jimin retracted his hand back and frowned at Yoongi. The elder noted how his lower lips quivered a bit.
"Are you trying to ridicule me?"
"What? No, no, no. I want to help you" Yoongi defended.
"You know well enough I can't see" Jimin snapped.
Yoongi sighed, "Just-Just let me try something, please?"
Jimin looked uncertain for obvious reason, but Yoongi still waited.
"The flowers you were just holding... they're yellow"
"It is...?" Jimin's voice dropped to a whisper, his turning to where the sofa was, "Is it pretty?"
"It's adorable!" Yoongi replied excitedly. He stopped the moment he heard Jimin sigh dejectedly.
"Come here" Yoongi said, taking Jimin's hand and pulling him outside to the balcony and made the younger stand facing the sun.
"Why am I standing facing the sun?" Jimin asked
"And how do you know what?"
Jimin shrugged a little, "The warmth? I guess"
"Exactly! The sun's yellow" Yoongi said, grinning ear to ear, "Yellow a really warm color. It's the color of happiness and optimism and sunshine"
Yoongi watched contently as a small smile of perception showed his face.
"I know you can't see them... but I thought... actually know what? Never mind" Yoongi muttered. The idea to describe the colors sounded good only in his head. Now that he actually speaking it out loud, it felt really stupid to him.
"That's really comforting way to say it... but I still can't see it" Jimin sighed, but the smile was still present on his face.
"Yeah, I know... it was stupid..." Yoongi replied
There was a silence for a while until Jimin spoke up again.
"SeokJin hyung likes the color pink"
Yoongi looked up at the younger, not really sure what he said that.
Jimin turned to Yoongi, his eyes still closed and the smile still present on his face, "What does pink look like?"
Yoongi quickly started to think about the answer, trying to connect a way to pink to some object. His face lit up when he came to answer and rushed back inside. There was candy bowl kept in the kitchen because during Saturdays Hoseok would bring loads of candies with himself. Yoongi picked up the pink candies and went outside.
"Now, this may be a little uncomfortable for you, but trust me"
"I literally met you a week ago" Jimin replied in a factual tone.
Yoongi slumped his shoulders, looking at Jimin until the younger grinned sheepishly.
"But that doesn't mean anything" He added quickly.
Yoongi rolled his eyes, knowing that Jimin was being playful, "Okay smarty pants, open your mouth"
The younger scrunched up his face as if so defiance but nonetheless opened his mouth enough for Yoongi to pop in the candy.
"It's a candy" Jimin mumbled, "It's sweet"
"Pink is like that. It's a sweet, soft color. It's...it's very tender. Like cotton candy! Have you eaten a cotton candy?" Yoongi asked to which the younger nodded, "Pink is like cotton candy. Sweet, soft and tender. And it's adorable too"
Jimin smiled widely hearing that, "That sounds really cute. No one's explained it to me this way"
"Really? Then if you want, I would be happy to help you with the other colors" Yoongi replied excitedly. However, his smile dropped realizing that in the end, Jimin couldn't see the color. It would start to irritate the younger after a while, leaving him frustrated.
Yet, Jimin gave him the sweetest smile he had seen till now and nodded excitedly.
"I would love to!"
And maybe, just maybe, Yoongi saw pink flash throughout his vision and spread inside him.
