A mistake of high price
Darkness frowned finding itself in the Edge of the Worlds. Behind him stood Light in its usual form, glaring at him.
"Have you lost all sense?" Darkness screamed, "It hasn't even been a week on Earth. You'll kill us like this!"
Light snarled. It's glow brightening to the point, Darkness had to back away because the gleam was too harsh.
"Pathetic beings like you don't have a say!" Light growled, "You dare try to attack me while in my mortal form!"
"I didn't do anything! I don't even know about your whereabouts!"
"Do not lie to me!" Light grumbled, throwing a beam of light towards Darkness.
This was wrong. They shouldn't be here. Both of them possibly couldn't have gathered enough strength to be here for long, much less fight. Moreover, Jimin was exhausted beyond sense. It was bound to affect Light's powers as well.
However, in that moment, Darkness lost attention over Light. When it looked back up, Light was no where to be seen. But before Darkness could say anything, it felts the other's presence behind him. Quickly Darkness turned around, backing away at the same time. It spear conjured up in its hand as he blocked Light's attack. Darkness jumped backwards. Light striking again relentlessly. But Darkness couldn't afford to let them stay here for long. They had to leave before the souls sucked them dry of their essences.
It hit Light with the staff of it spear. The other groaning in pain. In that moment Darkness stepped away. With one hand, it pointed its spear up, just in case Light decided to attack again. It used its other hand to create a dark ball and threw it in Light's direction. It assumed that Light would see it, but it was mistake. Darkness immediately backed away in shock when the dark ball hit right in the center of Light's form. The other stumbled down to its knees in pain.
"I-" Darkness stopped itself before it could say anything that would have let the other known about its other identity. And the moment, he couldn't even say anything without making Light suspicious. So, quietly Darkness channeled a bit of its powers to Light. It would heal Light's would but there will be one consequence. Light would stay considerably weak for a sufficiently long time. But at the moment, Darkness couldn't think of anything else.
After a few moments, Light stood back on its feet and it seemed more furious than before. Darkness knew what was coming next and tried to open the pathways. However, before it could, chains of light shot up from the ground and wrapped themselves around Darkness' wrist and ankles.
It cried out in pain. The chains burning onto its form. Light laughed seeing its conditions. However, Darkness couldn't help but let it anger take control of its anger over him. Suddenly, the entire ground shook. Cracks formed.
'What are you doing?" Light asked.
"Do you know what happens in the presence of complete, menacing darkness?" Darkness asked in tilting its head, "It's alright if you don't. You're about to see"
Everything around them, for as much as they could see, turned black. And at first Light didn't seen to sense any change. Nevertheless, soon enough it felt it. Or more like it saw it.
The intensity slowly started to dim down. Darkness tiled its head further to the side. With that movement, Light found itself forcefully kneeling on the ground. The darkness around it acted like a heavy substance. Crushing it down.
Even though, Light was being crushed under the overwhelming night, Darkness still couldn't break the chains.
"Free me now!" It threatened, "Free me now or I will crush you underneath!"
"No!" Light replied.
Darkness was felt flabbergasted at the response. It couldn't remove the darkness around it. Not until Light let it go. Because if it erased the darkness beforehand, Light might destroy it. And Darkness couldn't let that happen.
"Free me now!" Darkness threatened once again.
Light stayed stubborn and refused to let Darkness free, thought it was now on the ground struggling to prevent itself from getting crumpled. The other waited. Hoping and thinking would let go soon enough. But even seconds before Light would completely be crumbled, it stayed stubborn. Refusing to let Darkness go.
"No!" The other yelled out when the darkness completely enveloped Light.
The broke like glasses in the exact second. And Darkness immediately removed its power.
"Damn you!" Darkness grumbled as it crouched next to Light's unconscious body, "Why do you have to be so stubborn"
It picked up Light body, channeling some of its power to the other.
"You're an utter disaster" Darkness mumbled, closing its eyes. It muttered a few ancient words in a language that was long forgotten by every creature. Then, their bodies turned to smoke. The journey back to Earth was considerably tricky since Light remained unconscious. So, Darkness had to remain as close to Light as possible to make sure it didn't get stuck between the two realms.
"Please, take care" It was the last thing Darkness could say before their essences went back to their respective vessels.
