Look Over There

****This story is based on  Season 4 Episode 14 Clues  and  Episode 16 Galaxy's Child ****

Picard felt relief when he was able to inform Dezirae of what he discovered that Data's lies were indeed to protect those on the ship Dezirae had mixed feelings about it all yes she was relieved but she was also still worried after all Deanna was still not fully herself nor was Data and they were now going back to where it all began and who knows what would happen when they got there for all she knew it could just be putting them all back into the flames that burned them to begin with.... "Counselor Troi.... what is it?"  Data asks when Deanna walks into his office he stands up out of his desk chair and walks over to her "Data.... that's not Deanna!"  Data hears Dezirae who is playing with Spot say from the living room with a worried tone "the plan has failed"  Deanna says in a voice that is not her own as Dezirae stands up and walks past Deanna over to Data who takes her hand in his "people usually don't answer well to deception or threats it would have been better if you had allowed Data to tell the truth.... that you only wish to be left alone and we would have found a way to give you what you want"  Dezirae informs the entity that has taken over Deanna who stares at her sensing it's hostile anger towards her Dezirae says to the entity in Deanna "I do not fear you as a matter of fact it is I who has killed many of you!.... I do not respond well to provocation!"  Data stares at her in shock as she continues "nor will I allow ANYONE to take me over as you have our friend or any other way though I'm betting she has no idea you've done so.... I don't like it when my friends end up fearing themselves!"  Dezirae mutters to herself "I really should try to teach her to block that then again her mother should have taught her that to begin with!"  the entity inside Deanna says to Data ignoring Dezirae's existence "your ship is again in our space"  Data replies "I was unable to prevent it"  Dezirae says "mainly because of your lies"  Data looks at her sadly "you should have figured that just like I have they would have found out the truth you were most unlike yourself Data"  Dezirae says Data smiles a thin smile "nevertheless, you are here"  the entity says "the Enterprise is not a threat to you give me more time our destruction would only...."  Data says he stops when Geordi enters the room hearing the door open Dezirae, Data and Deanna look over at him as Geordi says from the doorway "Data, Captain wanted me to bring you to the Bridge Counselor, Dez"  Dezirae smiles at him and says "hello Geordi"  Data looks from one friend to the other then back and says "one moment, if you would"  Geordi nods then walks back out after waving at Dezirae who waves back "do nothing it may yet be possible to salvage the situation"  Data tells the entity inside Deanna who stares at him Data looks at Dezirae and his lips meet hers in a long passionate kiss then he walks out of the room and the entity follows either not wanting to be in Dezirae's presence any longer or to make sure Data's new plan works.... Dezirae walks onto the Bridge just in time to catch Deanna as the entity leaves her body "thank you"  Deanna says softly as she pats Dezirae's hand lightly "welcome back Counselor, Geordi, Data, reconfigure the Computer and the records Number One, I want you to oversee the rest of the ship and this time.... let's get it right"  Picard orders then he says with a smile as his eyes meet Dezirae's "I have a lot to explain"  she replies with a smile "indeed you do Captain"  he leads her to his Ready Room were he has the replicator make them some of his favorite tea and he goes into a full detailed description of what he had learned "I didn't know that part"  she says once he was finished he chuckles.... a few minutes later Dezirae had to live the past day or so all over again as the crew is knocked unconscious then woken up a day later "what happened, Data?.... thank you"  Picard asks as Dezirae helps him up "the effect from the wormhole was rather intense"  Data replies he sees Dezirae smirk and tilts his head curiously as Picard replies "so it would seem"  Data says "everyone but Dezirae and myself was rendered unconscious my positronic system is immune to the effect"  Picard asks "how long were we out?"  Dezirae teases "half a decade and you haven't aged a day!.... you do however seem to like spending lots of time on the floor.... is it really that comfortable!?!"  Picard chuckles realizing that Dezirae was joking Data says much more seriously "30 seconds, sir"  Riker asks "current position?"  Ensign McKnight replies "point 5 4 parsecs from our previous position bearing 2 8 5 mark 1 4 7"  Picard says "it could be worse"  Data replies "yes, sir the wormhole appears to have been a local phenomenon"  they hear Beverly ask through the com "Crusher to Bridge what happened, Captain?"  Picard replies "the Enterprise went through a wormhole, Doctor it seems the entire crew was unconscious for approximately 30 seconds"  Beverly asks "is anyone on the Bridge hurt?"  Picard replies "apparently not"  Beverly says "I'll start checking the other decks Crusher out"  Picard turns and says "status reports?"  Worf replies "Shields and weapons systems unaffected"  Riker reports "no damage in Engineering"  Picard asks "counselor?"  Deanna replies "there's a general feeling of disorientation on board, but nothing serious as far as I can tell"  Picard says as Data sits in his station chair "well, then there's still that anomalous class-M planet we were going to investigate Ensign, replot a course to take us back to...."  Data turns in his seat and says "sir, it is likely the anomalous readings were the result of the wormhole's effect it was extremely unstable I would recommend against returning it might put the Enterprise at further risk"  Riker replies "we could launch a probe"  Data says "that would certainly be sufficient, sir"  Picard replies after a long pause "make it so and put out a hazard advisory to Starfleet Ensign, set a course to Evadne 4"  Ensign McKnight replies "aye, Sir"  Picard says "engage"  then he heads to his chair and sits down Data looks at Dezirae who is sitting next to him in the chair Q left for her when she first came aboard though this time instead of being inbetween his and the Ensign's chair it was on the other side of him sensing her relief now that she knows the reason for his lies he smiles at her and she smiles back....
