Daddy Data

**** This chapter is based on Season 5 Episode 11 Hero Worship with small mentions of Episode 12 Violations and  Episode 14 Conundrum****

Dezirae walks onto the Bridge and hears Troi say "if he's lying, I haven't been able to sense it perhaps his emotional trauma level is too high"  Picard asks "why wouldn't he tell us the truth?"  Dezirae replies as she walks over to them "he blames himself"  Deanna, Data, Geordi and Picard all lookin her direction "I'm not sure of why but he thinks HE is the cause of all those deaths.... his emotions are jumbled but they seem slightly calmer when he's around Data.... then again Data is the one who saved his life so he may look up to him.... not as a god but perhaps some form of superhero"  she adds "well, I'll go back and check the sensor readings again but I don't think we're going to find anything"  Geordi says "thank you, Geordi"  Picard replies Geordi and Data walk away Dezirae starts to follow Geordi but stops when she hears Deanna say "Data Captain, I think we should ask Data to spend some time with him"  Data also stops in his tracks turns and walks back over then says "I do not understand"  Deanna replies "I'm very worried about his behavior and what I've just heard doesn't make me feel any better Data, you're the only one he's reached out to, because as Dezirae said you rescued him we can use your relationship with him to help his recovery"  Dezirae mutters under her breath "this should prove interesting!"  then she continues on her way back towards the Turbolift where a smiling Geordi waits.... "oh boy!"  Geordi hears Dezirae say softly with a slight chuckle in her tone as they work "what!?!"  he asks "it is as I feared.... we now have 2 androids onboard!"  she replies "what do you mean by that!?!"  he asks with a chuckle "Data must have informed Timothy that he is not capable of feeling emotions and after what he's been through...."  she replies "I see!"  he says softly as Data walks into Engineering and asks Dezirae as soon as he reaches them "why did you kiss me!?!"  she replies "isn't that what I normally do after I wake up!?..... you were not in our quarters at that point in time as a matter of fact you were playing hero and almost getting yourself killed in the process I guess I had 2 reasons to give you a kiss.... to say good morning and inform you that I am glad you still live.... I know I don't usually kiss you when you are on duty but...."  she doesn't get to finish for his lips press up upon hers and he kisses her for a few seconds more than she did him.... while he is on duty.... "you were saying!?!"  Geordi says with a smile "as I told Spock on Romulus he doesn't feel he expresses what he wishes he could feel or believes he would feel if he could feel.... you have seen it more times than I the more he's around humans the more he emulates them.... in all the best ways.... I have always thought of Lore as the Yin to his Yang, darkness to his light.... they were made to be the same and yet they are in many ways different they both emulate emotions but they emulate different emotions Lore emulates the darker emotions humans feel Data the lighter.... it took me a long time to figure that out or at least see it that way for the longest time I thought it was me that I was MAKING him feel the emotions he can't feel.... I can sense him like I sense everyone else so I figured that I may have had some sort of ability to make him feel for me what I feel for him and I believe that is why we were always so "back and forth" when this relationship we started from the very beginning though in a way I'm lucky I suppose we never "broke up" or started to hate each other in any sort of way and it was never awkward.... at least I didn't think it was but he is my first so I'm not really sure.... it might seem that way to the rest of you.... we're just.... different.... so I guess in a sense this relationship of ours is "normal".... by our odd standards anyway"  Dezirae replies as they continue working on the shield modulators Geordi says with a chuckle and a smile "you sure are!"  she shakes her head with a smile and Data watches them with a smile of his own on his face he will always be glad that they got along so well even after finding out who made her....
