God's Eye

****This chapter is based off of  Season 4 Episode 24 Mind's Eye and  Episode 25 In Theory****

Data looks at Dezirae in concern when her body starts to convulse and twitch in a way he has never seen it do before "Dezirae!.... what is wrong!?!"  Data asks "Geordi!.... he's in trouble!"  she whispers softly with a worried tone he looks at her worried when she sinks back into herself and searches for their friend not knowing what else to do Data returns to duty.... "this is very odd!"  Geordi hears Dezirae say softly in the back of his mind and he chuckles  "Geordi.... scream"  she orders softly he looks at her oddly and replies "what!?!"  she looks into his blue eyes and says "scream!"  his outer body screams "how did you get here!?!"  he asks "you know I sense it when those I am closes to are hurt sometimes I even feel it.... yours is lighter because you are far away but I was still affected somewhat and though it worried Data he knows when to put things in the back of his mind so he can focus on his duty.... he might even forget I mentioned you being in trouble.... I will never reprogram him but.... we have a Klingon Ambassador on board so his focus may be elsewhere for the time being.... which is probably for the best.... for now.... I can calm the pain slightly but I cannot interfere completely with whatever they are doing for I fear they may make it worse if I do and even though they need your mind to be weak they would want your body to be strong so.... think of this as a "inner body experience" instead of outer for you are the only one who can see much less feel me"  she tells him he nods "so.... would you like a taste of those visions now!?!"  she teasingly asks he chuckles "you know I don't think he ever realized that it was not me he was seeing in them but someone else.... as a matter of fact you became Will for a few minutes for it was a different woman each time the only thing that was the same was our hair color.... so much for the famous "Betazoid focus" huh!?!"  she adds he laughs and she ends up giving him a small taste of her "fantasies" that she fed Sabin during her interrogation which he was surprised that they were so.... hot and erotic then again that would be the best way to distract someone.... Dezirae didn't stay for long she knew that her body was in a form of stasis and did not want Data to over worry so she made it seem like she was sleeping by waking her body up a few hours after she "joined" Geordi in his "dreamlike" state that she created for him in the far reaches of his mind.... a week later Geordi returns a changed man and Data started to become confused when Dezirae started to act oddly around Geordi and the only explanation she would give him was that Geordi was not himself and he could not see what she saw so he seemingly ignored it as he was happy to have his friend back.... Dezirae was sitting with Miles in Ten Forward when Geordi walks in and orders a drink then walks over to them Dezirae quickly stands up walks over to Geordi and takes the cup from him asking "is that for me!?!"  Geordi seemed surprised but let it slide and says "of course!"  she replies "thank you!"  then takes a sip and says after she swallows "would you like to join us!? I was just helping Miles with some paperwork"  Geordi replies "no thank you I just.... came to see if anything had changed in Ten Forward"  she says "nope everything's the same Guinan runs a tight ship as the saying goes nothing is ever out of order here"  Geordi forces a chuckle which he's never done before then walks away without even saying goodbye which is something he never does when it comes to Dezirae.... "that must feel really good to have in your hands huh La Forge!?!"  Data and Geordi hear Dezirae say as she walks into Engineering and sees them testing out a Starfleet issue rifle replica Data looks at her oddly for she never call Geordi by his last name what was even more strange was Geordi's answer as the beam from the rifle continues to fire into the tester "yes it does"  Geordi replies with a smile "hello Data"  Dezirae says as she walks over to him and stands by his side "hello Dezirae"  Data replies Geordi's eyebrow raises at their pleasant confrontation "need any help!?"  she asks "not at present but thank you for offering"  Data replies Dezirae nods as she lays her hand long his lower back which became their way of showing affection while he was working instead of a kiss or holding hands which seemed to make Geordi curious even though he has seen it many times then she walks away to check on the consoles around the room since they were presently unmanned "energy cell usage remains constant at one point oh 5 megajoules per second curious the efficiency reading on the discharge crystal is well above Starfleet specifications"  Data says as he reads the console while watching Dezirae out of the corner of his eye "yeah, by quite a bit 94 point 1 percent efficiency"  Geordi replies as he turns the rifle off and also watches Dezirae with a curious wonder expression on his face as though he was wondering why a non-Starfleet officer was working in Engineering "our most efficient discharge crystal typically fires with 86 point 5 percent efficiency"  Data says "hm let's take a closer look at the wave pattern on the emission beam that might tell us why it's losing so little energy"  Geordi replies and he turns the rifle back on  "pulse frequency out of pre-fire chamber reads steady"  Data says "there that's not right the initial output spike is inverted"  Geordi replies "that might suggest that the weapon has been charged with a forced pulse, well into the terahertz range"  Data says "then it's definitely not Starfleet issue and there can't be that many systems that use the terahertz feeds"  Geordi replies "327, to our knowledge we can probably achieve an exact match with a random computer search it will take approximately 3 hours.... I may need Dezirae's help after all"  Data says "I think we could narrow this down with a little common sense, Data who has the most to gain from a conflict between the Klingon Empire and the Federation?"  Geordi replies and now he was REALLY curious about the woman he once called a friend as he watches her walk out of the room....
