Ryu Honoo and his lowly Sokku seek to join the Triple Threat Triad Dynasty, to make it big and to seek an easy road to prosperity: Ryu effected by the negative vibes of his parents divorce starts to drift-off more into the criminal lifestyle. Ronin—Ryu's father, is doing everything within his power to help his eldest son, though the old 41-year-old GWII veteran finds himself in quite the predicament that both his divorce and his own son have put him through as of lately."

                                                   "Welcome to the Triple Threats"

.... In the hallways of Republic City High School, Ryu Honoo was sitting on his cafeteria chair, waiting for his goofy friend Sokku to arrive. "By Avatar's sake, Sokku, you were supposed to meet me at the cafeteria an hour ago!" he spoke underneath his breath. He looked at his watch, knowing that he was already late. "I hope he hasn't got himself into trouble already" Ryu thought, irritated.

.... Meanwhile, on the other side of the cafeteria, Kara was walking through with her friend Li Yang. "What's troubling you, Kara?" Li Yang asked. "It's Ryu, I feel so badly for him" she confided to Li Yang. "Why do you feel bad for the likes of him? I read his records, he's a trouble maker who's been held-back and arrested twice for drug possession." Li Yang wondered why her friend would care for such a trouble maker. "Come on, Kara, you shouldn't give a thought about this bad seed!" she meant what she said. "Li Yang, your great gran-gran Katara spoke of the hatred she felt for the Fire-Bender who murdered her mother. But she knew it would be pointless to hold onto her anger, so eventually she did forgive him and the hatred melted away" she reminded her. "My gran-gran would always try to help those who were in need. So I'm going to help Ryu." Having taken her stand, she turned and resolutely walked toward Ryu's table. "Hey, don't you ever say I didn't warn you" said Li Yang. "I'm very aware of it, Li" Kara countered with a salute. "Ah.' why do I even bother" she spoke to herself.

.... Ryu Honoo was sitting there bored, still waiting for Sokku to arrive. "Aang d***-it, when are you going to get here already!?" he thought. Then Kara arrived. "Ryu" "Kara? 'heh, heh,' What brings you here to my lonely sitting place, you have some kinda crush on me or something?" Ryu joked. "Ah.'" Kara felt herself blushing. "No, the reason why I came here is because I saw you sitting here with no one to talk to. So I came to keep you company" Kara revealed. "Let me guess; your Gran-Gran Korra has told you in the spirit, to come and comfort me" he sarcastically spoke. Kara took his comment in stride, "Actually no. I've come personally on my own accord, because I don't want you to be sitting here lonely and without anyone to talk to" she smiled. "Okay, whatever you say I guess" Ryu replied. He moved over and she sat next to him. Ryu suddenly felt sorry for being so rude.

.... Ryu looked at her and said. "Why are you really sitting here with me?" "Because I heard your parents are getting a divorce, and it's hurting you on the inside" she revealed. "How did you know that!?" he asked firmly. "Because I was working in the school office and,... I inadvertently saw on your permanent records, and I think you've been getting yourself into trouble with the law because you're upset!" "That isn't none of your business, I don't need any help. Especially from the granddaughter of a dead legend who's no longer around!" he barked at her. "Ryu...." He interrupted her. "Don't you dare say anything! This has nothing to do with you" he turned his head in an effort to hide his distress. "Ryu, I know you're hurting on the inside. But doing wrong things isn't going to help." She placed her hand on his shoulder. "It's going to be okay, my friend" Ryu Honoo looked at her with a slight smile on his face, realizing that Kara truly wanted to help him get through his pain.
