                                                     "Ryu Honoo's story"

.... It has now been three weeks after the race car war. Ryu Honoo is working as a mechanic at Xiang and Son's Auto Repair Shop. "Hey, pops, we've got ourselves another Satomobile with an engine problem." Xiang Jr., Mister Xiang Sr's son, informed his father. "Oh-great another one! Well, bring it into the garage then..." Xiang Sr. shrugged. After driving the car into the garage, Xiang Jr. whistled, "Boy howdy, this Satomobile sure looks good, it's one of those Su-Howl Cruisers" Xiang Sr. called out to Ryu, "Ryu get over here—you've got to see this!" Ryu walked in wearing his uniform and wiping his hands on a rag. "What is it, sir? Another car with....from the sound of it.... engine trouble?" Ryu asked his boss. "Always right on the money as usual Mister Honoo, boy you know more about cars then my own son Xiang Jr." "Hey!" Xiang Jr. was offended. "You know what I mean, you decided to be a college boy~the garage has never been your first choice." Xiang Jr. thumped his chest, "Yeah---first Xiang to graduate from a university!" "True, but that degree didn't come cheap you know!" Xiang Sr. rolled his eyes, "Whatever college boy" he turned to Ryu. "Ryu my man, you sure know your cars very well, unlike some people which shall remain nameless!" Xiang Sr. glared at his son with a stern look. "You know I have dreams of being nothing much....just a surgeon, that's all, pa!" Now Chio Jr. rolled his eyes. Xiang Sr. ignored his son, "Anyway, Ryu let's see if you can fix another Satomobile..." Xiang Jr. glared at his father and stuck out his tongue. "Well it sounds like the carburetor to me!" Ryu popped the car's hood. After finding the problem and a few hours of labor, Ryu dropped the hood, "I think I've got it all fixed up and ready to go" Ryu proudly spoke. Starting up the Satomobile and hearing its engine purr, Xiang Sr. smiled with satisfaction, "Once again-- amazing work Mister Honoo; I sense a raise coming your way in your next paycheck... unlike some, shall we say, less "talented" people?" he was obviously referring to his son. "Oh-Aang! Come-on pa!" griped Xiang Jr., while admiring Ryu's handiwork as well. "Got to admit, Ryu, another great job!" Xiang Jr. good-naturedly high-fived his talented coworker. "Thanks to you both for giving me this job--no other business would hire me because of my former criminal record." Ryu replied graciously. "Well Ryu, I had my doubts at first, but you've proved to be a wonderful asset to my business!" then he teased his son once again, "Unlike some college boy-- who owes me 50-thousand yuan in tuition money!" Xiang Jr. slapped his hand across his face in irritation. "...." The clock chimed and Ryu's shift was now over. "Well, my shift's over, I better go—see-ya-later Xiang Sr. sir!" Ryu waved back to his boss and his son. "You're welcome, and you can call me Xiang, too my friend!" the boss smiled and waved. His son asked, "Hey why can't I call you Xiang, pa—you make me call ya boss!" "Because you owe me 50-thousand yuan, boy!" he griped at his son once again. "That again? Aang d***-it! Why do I even bother!" Xiang Jr. shrugged.

.... Now that his shift had ended, Ryu Honoo was walking down the street toward home when he saw a Firetruck roar by. "WHOA-WHOA-WHOA!" its siren blared as it zoomed past. "What the h*** is going on?" Ryu saw that the truck was stopping nearby and ran over to see what was up.
