minho couldn't get his eyes off jeongin's lunch table on monday. he anxiously tapped his hand against the table, awaiting the younger's arrival—whenever he decides to make his way over. that is, if he does decided to pay a visit.

once minho saw him get up from his table, he looked away so he didn't seem suspicious. he sneakingly watched as he got onto the lunch line, grab something and walk away, and then started coming over.

"hey, minho," he spoke, and minho could tell something was different. it didn't sound like his usual bright, confident self. he sounded more timid today, and he wondered why.

"i bought you an ice cream cone, i know you probably won't want it, and i most likely wasted my money, but i figured it was worth a shot."

minho let out a breath, staring at the food in the others hand.

you can do it. don't be pluto.

minho smiled happily at the younger, "i would love it. have a seat!"

jeongin was definitely thrown off. he went wide eyed, a smile growing on his face as he sat down next to minho, handing him the ice cream. the two clicked their cones against each other, and began eating them.

"so you know what i never understood?" jeongin spoke, his face looking bewildered. minho raised an eyebrow, curious.

"extra toasty cheez-it's! what's the point? they're just trying to sell the ones they burnt instead of just throwing them out. what a ripoff!!"

minho broke out in laughs, which caused jeongin to do the same. he has no idea why the younger's mind is so random and silly, but it's definitely amusing.

"you have a point there, i guess they're just trying to make a profit."

jeongin huffed and shrugged, "yeah, you're right."

changbin couldn't pay much attention to what hyunjin was saying as the younger blabbed about random shit. he was too distracted on someone else.

minho. he was surprised to see hyunjin's other friend jeongin talking it up with minho, and the other seeming to enjoy it. they were laughing, eating, and just having fun.

changbin hasn't seen minho laugh that much since they were friends. it made his stomach turn with a feeling he doesn't really know. why should he care so much anyway, he left minho.

hyunjin snapped his fingers in changbin's face, jump scaring the other, "changbin! did you hear a word i said?"

changbin turned to face his friend, and sighed embarrassedly, "no, sorry. i was a bit distracted."

hyunin furred his eyebrows, "by what?"

"minho and jeongin. i know i shouldn't be jealous, but i am. i haven't seen minho that happy in years. what if he's happier being friends with jeongin than he was with me?"

hyunjin nodded, understanding why changbin feels that way. "shouldn't you just talk to him again? it's our last year of high school, and we will all be going different ways next year for college. don't you want to patch things up before the year is over?"

changbin shook his head. "after i ghosted him for this long? no way."

hyunjin groaned, getting frustrated. god, he hates how stubborn his best friend can be. getting intimidated by the past, which makes him too scared to fix the future.

if only minho knew the real reason why changbin left.
