::::

minho walked into the therapy office with his head down. there was something different about the atmosphere between the two, and jisung was quick to notice it.

"are you okay?" he asked, taking a seat across from minho. the younger shrugged, not really knowing what's wrong.

jisung hummed in response, trying to think of something to say, "well, how was your week?"

"it was fine. i had jeongin and yeosang over and we played some games."

jisung's face lit up, smiling at the fact minho hung out with his friends. he laughed at the memory of when they first met, and minho couldn't stand jeongin, but it turned out to be him afraid of letting the younger in his life. and now they're good friends.

jisung mentally gave himself some brownie points.

"oh, that's great!" he cheered, and minho just shrugged once again. jisung raised an eyebrow, unsure why the other was acting so down.

"minho, are you sure there isn't anything bugging you?" jisung tried again, hoping the other would give him something to work with.

"if there was, i wouldn't tell you anyway," minho snapped, voice sounding irritated and cold.

now jisung was taken aback, and his assumptions that something happened definitely being confirmed.

"woah, what? i thought we were making progress, why are we taking such a step backwards?"

minho sighed, putting his head in his hands. jisung stayed quiet, giving the other time to collect his thoughts.

"do you remember my first time here, you said that opening up to people you aren't necessarily close with can be easier?" minho asked, and jisung nodded his head.

"well..." minho started, slowly becoming more embarrassed, "since last week, i-i have felt a lot more closer to you. and now i don't k-know how comfortable i am talking about my feelings with you. it's stupid, i know. but it's like now i feel more ashamed."

there was a silence between the two, jisung being left speechless.

that was unexpected.

"sorry..." minho mumbled, feeling like he somehow let jisung down.

jisung remained silent, until a specific conversation came back up in his mind.

"well...it's sorta unprofessional to date your client. and if you like him that much, it's probably for the better."

"i don't think so man, sorry. so what if we decide to date? what's the worst that can happen?"

jisung frowned, hating to admit that jeonghan was right.

oh...THATS the worst that can happen!

"no, no i get it," jisung answered, regretting ever letting his feelings for minho take over his work life.

a sudden burst of realization hit him. it's been about four months, and they've made less progress than jisung originally thought. yeah, he got minho to make some friends, and he seems to be a bit happier, but other than that, what?

has he diagnosed minho with anything yet? found ways for him to cope with his feelings? no, but he's taken him on a date.

let's retract those brownie points, you idiot!

"fuck," jisung whispered to himself, grabbing minho's file and going through it.

"minho, have you ever been professionally diagnosed with anything before you met me?"

minho blinked, not wanting to answer that. he was unsure why jisung's mood suddenly changed. minho just wanted to go home and never come back here. he gulped, breaking eye contact with the older.

"minho?"

"um, no."

jisung nodded, "well, then i am. today."

minho groaned, flopping on his back. he felt a tear leave his eye, and he quickly wiped it away. this was the day he was most scared of since coming to therapy; getting the labels on what's wrong with him.

"for the next fifty minutes, i'm going to ask you some questions, and you must answer them honestly. it's the only way i'll be able to help you get better, okay?"

minho sat up, crossing his arms and looking at jisung suspiciously. "how are just some lousy questions gonna tell you why i'm so fucked up?"

jisung's heart shattered, hearing those words come out of the others mouth completely breaking him.

"one, you're not fucked up. you're emotions and thoughts are valid, and if you have what i think, it's normal for you to think and act the way you do," jisung explained, though he was sure minho tuned him out long ago, "and two, i'm a professional, minho. i specialize in mental health and diagnosing. i can tell what's going on by your actions and symptoms."

minho mumbled a small 'oh' under his breath. he twirled the strings on his sweatshirt nervously, desperately trying to find something to say to get him off this topic and to avoid the conversation.

to his disadvantaged, jisung was pretty set on getting this in-depth evaluation done.

"let's start, shall we?"

::::

after what felt like an eternity of talking, the hour was finally up, which also meant so was the evaluation. minho dreaded every waking second of their conversation, and has never felt more humiliated in his entire life.

"i'll see you in two weeks with the results, min," jisung softly spoke, knowing minho is at his dads next week.

minho shrugged, and went to walk out. but he felt a hand get placed on his shoulder.

"you did great."

minho didn't know what to respond, so he just nodded and left the office.

jisung watched him leave, and then shut his door with a sigh. he walked over to his desk, getting ready to plan out the next few sessions with him.

"alright han, if you want to continue being his therapist, there can be no more goofing arond. we must strictly focus on getting minho the help he needs," he spoke to himself, slamming his head on his desk.

"and if that means pushing away your feelings, then so be it."
