::::
minho wasn't in the mood for anyone's bullshit the following friday. not only did he wake up feeling extremely depressed and tired, but he also woke up to a notification on his phone that informed him he failed a history test he really studied for (with the help of jeongin, who has a weird talent for remembering important dates).
so, it's basically like the son of satan is attending school today instead of minho himself. he didn't bother to look nice, showing up in his pajamas, which was a plain gray teeshirt and red pajama pants. he couldn't give two shits about his appearance today; he just wanted to get school over with as quick as possible.
to his advantage, his first few teachers must have been in a somewhat good mood, unlike minho. they didn't go too heavy on the work, and he was able to do it pretty quickly (though half assed), so he just rested his head on his arms and closed his eyes.
eventually, lunch rolled around. after thinking about it during the period before, minho didn't want to drag down jeongin's mood by being grouchy around him. so, he decided to eat by himself in the courtyard.
the weather was nice, anyway. it was the end of february, which means the lovely march-spring air was nearing. it wasn't too cold and wasn't too hot, and the sun was being half covered by clouds, so it wasn't extremely sunny either.
minho sighed, sitting down on the grass against the building, going through his bag to find his lunch. it then occurred to him that he forgot to pack one this morning in his sadness wave.
"god fucking damnit," he mumbled, throwing his bag over his shoulder and making his way into the cafeteria to buy lunch instead.
once he entered, he thankfully saw jeongin eating with his other friends instead of waiting alone at their usual table. it made him feel relieved, the other must think he didn't come to school.
minho looked down, trying to avoid drawing attention to himself. which would be pretty hard, seeming he showed up to school dressing like he's homeless.
looking down was probably the biggest mistake minho's made all year. like the tired idiot he is, he ended up bumping into someone, causing them to drop their lunch.
i'm gonna get pounded!
"oh my god, i'm so sorry!" minho slowly looked up to meet eyes with, of all people, felix.
the younger had an apologetic smile on his face, brushing the food off his shirt, "no, don't worry about it, it's fine!"
minho frowned, actually feeling bad for the other. but if he has no problem, then i guess he's done with the conversation. felix is probably the person he would want to have a conversation with the absolute least.
he went to walk away, but felix stopped him.
"wait, you're minho right? jeongin's friend?"
minho annoyedly turned back around, forcing a smile on his face, "yes i am. and you're felix...changbin's boyfriend."
minho growled saying the last two words, but felix happily smiled and nodded.
"yeah! weren't you and changbin friends once too? it sucks, you seem really nice."
minho wanted to just run away, or talk about anything but this. changbin leaving him was one of the most hurtful things that ever has happened to him, and bringing back the memories wasn't ideal.
"well, you know, friends fall out of friendship. it's normal."
felix frowned, shrugging, "i guess so. but would you want to hang out with me one day? i would love to be your friend too."
minho clenched his fist, this conversation sparking anger in his body, as well as regret; regretful that he wasn't a better friend to changbin, causing the other to ghost him.
or maybe they could have rekindled their friendship. if it wasn't for him.
you stole my friend.
"i don't care."
minho tried to walk past the kid, but felix stopped him once again. the older let out a huff.
"but wait-"
minho couldn't take it anymore.
"would you fuck off, you stupid friend stealing bitch!" minho then angrily threw a punch, his fist connecting with felix's cheek. the younger let out a shriek of pain and grabbed the side of his face, gaining the attention of everyone in the room.
realizing what just happened, minho embarrassedly covered his mouth with both his hands, slowly backing away in shock.
did i just do that?!
"felix, are you okay?" changbin yelled, running over and pulling his boyfriend into a hug. he wiped a tear from the others face, and then turned around to see who did this to him.
"now who the hell- minho?! what is wrong with you!"
minho sucked in a breath, not having faced his former friend in a while.
"i-i'm so s-sorry, i don't know w-why i-"
"i should have fucking known it was you, you selfish brat! what makes you think you can do that? and why would you do that?"
changbin seemed almost hurt by minho's actions, showing how much he really cares for felix. minho tried apologizing again, but the other didn't let him.
without giving minho time to answer the question, changbin grabbed felix's hand and started bringing him to the nurse.
minho looked around the room, and all eyes were on him. but only one pair caught his attention.
jeongin.
the younger looked somewhat betrayed. he had a frown on his face, his eyebrows were scrunched, and his arms were crossed.
minho began running over to the other. catching sight of this, jeongin quickly packed up his things and bolted out of the room, leaving his friends confused.
"jeongin wait, please!" minho yelled, catching up to the younger in the hallway. "you gotta listen to me," he begged, but he could tell his friend was not happy.
"get away from me," jeongin coldly spat, trying to walk around minho.
minho grabbed jeongin's shoulder. "jeongin please-"
jeongin slapped the others hand away, "i thought you were a good person! i thought that i was helping someone good out by trying so damn fucking hard to be their friend, getting rejected and hurt multiple times along the way! but if i knew you were like this, i would have never spoke a damn word to you in the first place!"
jeongin's eyes welled with angry tears, so he stormed away before minho could see them.
minho was shaking. shaking so bad. he slowly backed up until his back was against the row of lockers. he slid down it until he was sitting, pulling his knees into his chest and breaking out into tears.
he grabbed his legs as tight as he could, crying loudly, not caring who walked by or saw him breaking down. he was done with everyone, done with everything around him.
did i just lose one of my only friends?
minho's head was beginning to hurt from all the crying. he wanted nothing but to just stop everything. stop time, stop himself from stupidly punching felix. stop crying, stop being depressed, stop the pain.
stop being alive.
