Silence. For a whole fucking hour since Momo left. She didn't look, not even talk to me.
"Jennie will you please, please listen to me?"
Her eyes remained on the television, the one from my room that I brought out to the living room since we planned this whole evening with Momo, only to be cut short by our unexpected misunderstanding.
God, it's already driving me crazy.
Honestly, my mom was shocked when I told her it wasn't Mina. I didn't know how to tell her and Dad that we broke up already. It was hard. Our families loved us together, we were great together, I wanted to marry her... but she's the one who gave it all up for some other guy.
That's the hardest part.
Letting someone in, sharing your self, your home, your life, your family with that someone, and when she leaves... you're left alone to fix it, as if she never came in your life in the first place. How am I supposed to tell them I wasn't enough for her? That she's not- and will never be- a member of our family anymore. Even my family alone is already broken.
And that terrifies me. I sometimes wonder... How am I supposed to make Jennie stay when everything in me is broken? It's not fair for her to keep fixing me.
I try so hard not to let her feel how broken I am inside but sometimes it slips and we end up fighting over the simplest things. This wasn't how it went with Mina before. I'm so fucked up and I can't let her see it.
When I scooted closer, she stood up and marched off to the guest room. I sighed and stood up as well, but not to follow her. I turned off the television, went to wash the dishes that I left on the sink, then stormed to my room to shower, hoping later tonight when I try again, she's already cooled down her anger.
Maybe as long as she lets me fix everything between us, I'll slowly heal too.
Unfortunately though, she's already asleep when I entered her room. Moving as quietly as possible, I stood beside her bed, pulled higher the sheets, and kissed her on the forehead.
Goodnight, Nini.

The next morning, I woke up with the sound of a frustrated, muffled scream outside my room.
I dragged my feet towards where it came from, feeling myself still half asleep, when I saw Jennie placing her wrist under the sink's faucet.
"Hey, what happened?"
Jennie looked startled as she looked at me, then back to her wrist, "Just accidentally spilled some hot coffee while talking t-"
"Lisa?"
That familiar voice was coming from Jennie's phone on the counter, beside her mug of coffee. Two plates of pancakes and another mug of coffee was placed beside it.
Jennie turned off the faucet and went to get her phone.
"Hi Jay," I tried to sound casual, following Jennie.
"You really did keep your word looking after Jennie," he chuckles from the other line, "It's too early there and you're already at our house. Thanks Lis."
Jennie and I locked eyes. Her feline eyes looked anxious and troubled while holding her phone in between us, on loud speaker.
"No biggie," I said exasperatedly. "How's it going there?"
"Hectic, but a lot more fun now," he sounds happy. "Hey, I really have to go now. Take care of Jennie for me, okay?"
"Of course Jay," my eyes darted to feline ones, who quickly averted her gaze off me.
