"Merry Christmas, Lisa."

I stopped squinting my eyes and literally stopped on my tracks towards the kitchen when I saw Mina there, busy working on some ingredients.

"Merry Christmas," I mumbled.

I fell asleep on the couch last night when I got home and I've only got a few hours of sleep.

"I'm making your favorite dish, I hope you don't mind me taking over your kitchen."

I shifted uncomfortably on my other feet, "You don't have to do this."

"I just want to thank you. Besides, it's Christmas. You can bring it over to Jay's house if you'd celebrate with them. Don't worry, Momo's picking me up in a few while."

"Have you told her what happened?" I asked.

"Not yet, but I think she has a clue."

"What are your plans now?" I asks, hoping she wouldn't think of getting back with her abusive boyfriend.

"Jimin has been bombarding my phone with apologies, asking me to come back but..." she sighs.

"You're not getting back with him that easily, are you?"

She only smiled sadly at me, refusing to answer. I know I have no right to tell her what to do so I just kept my mouth shut and proceeded to shower while she finish preparing the dish.

I was just getting out of the shower wearing fresh new clothes when I heard Momo's voice.

"Fine, but there's no way I'm letting him near you again."

"Calm down, Momo," I heard Mina say.

With a towel in hand, I was rubbing my hair a little as I went to where they are, in the living room.

There, I saw Momo pacing back and forth with Mina beside her. But what caught my eye was Jennie, standing near the door silently.

I went straight to her and saw her look at me uneasily.

"I didn't know you're coming here. I was planning on going over your house in a while," I told her, pressing my lips on her forehead.

She's got her hair tied in a stylish, messy bun while wearing a red knitted blouse that ends just above her waist, her pants hanging low on her hips. She looks cute. I bit my lip.

"Momo dropped by at our house to give us gifts when she mentioned she's coming here, so I asked to come with her," she explains while holding on to my arm. I smiled a little and intertwined our fingers.

From the corner of my eyes, I noticed the two cousins staring at us.

"I placed a little something under the Christmas tree," Momo came over to me, her face still serious. She looked furious, which I understood why. I pulled her in for a short hug.

"Merry Christmas, Momo."

"Merry Christmas," she replies, patting my back, "And thank you for taking care of my cousin. I mean it."

I nodded, glancing at Mina as she came up to us. She smiles at me a little, then at Jennie.

"Happy holidays. We better get going. And Lisa, I'm really sorry for being a nuisance-"

"You weren't," I assured her with a polite smile.

Momo ruffled Jennie's hair a little as they silently went away, leaving me alone with Jennie.

I slowly pulled her in my arms, happy that I have her all to myself on a special day like this.

"Let's stay here a little before we get back to your place?" I requested, my hands on her waist.
