"Jen?" I raised my voice a little louder while knocking.
I looked at my phone and she still isn't picking up my calls.
I sighed and went back to my car to get my duplicate keys of her house on my purse. Before, I usually just use it when I wish but after seeing her on just a towel several times without her even realizing I'm already inside, I decided to only use it in case of emergency. I don't want her to think I'm invading her privacy.
When I opened the door, all lights are still off. I lit up the living room and saw no trace of her.
"Jennie? Where are you?"
Did she already go to school without me?
Where the hell is she?!
I went up to the stairs while trying to call her again, and this time I heard her phone ringing from upstairs. I followed the sound until it lead me to her room.
I hastily knocked on her door a couple of times, my worry growing as I was met with silence on the other side of the door after calling her name, so I turned the knob. Good thing it isn't locked.
My heart dropped when I saw her unconscious state on the bed. Her eyes are tightly shut, shivering in cold while covered in a thick blanket.
"Jennie," I whispered, sitting down on the bed.
I placed my hand on her forehead. She's fucking burning with fever.
"Shit," I muttered under my breath.
That must've woken her up as she slightly opened her eyes and coughs.
"Lisa?" she tried to sit, but I held her shoulders back.
"You're sick, Jennie. Don't force yourself up," I tucked the covers tighter around her.
She frowned, her eyes heavy, "Yeah... I don't think I can make it to school. I-I should've left you a message so you didn't have to drive all the way here-"
"Shh, it's alright," I sighed while caressing her head. She seem to relax a bit.
"Are you in pain? Does it hurt somewhere? Should I bring you to the doctor?" I continuously asked.
She shook her head, "Just cold. I'll just sleep it away and drink some medicine," she breathes heavily.
"I'll bring some," I kissed the top of her head.
She hummed.
She already has her eyes closed when I pulled away. Even at her state, she still managed to look beautiful.
I made sure she's comfortable lying on her bed before going to the kitchen to make some porridge and get her medicine. I removed my black blazer, and rolled up the sleeves of my white shirt while working on it. I also informed my secretary that I won't be going to work today.
Making sure I've got everything she needs on the tray, including the porridge and the medicine, I made my way back up to her room.
I helped her eat, although she kept saying she's not hungry. I can't let her drink medicine with an empty stomach.
She stubbornly shakes her head with her eyes closed and leans on the head board when I lifted another spoonful of porridge.
Sighing, I brought my hand to her cheeks.
"Jennie, you need to eat."
"Mm," she leans on my hand.
She looks adorable that I almost melted, but I hate seeing her this weak. She really needs to eat.
