Monday arrives far too quickly for the group of sleep deprived friends, Stiles drops Liam off for school before heading to college just on the outskirts of town, both feeling equally exhausted neither make effort to start conversation during their journeys, which isn't completely uncommon.
Liam hasn't thought much about his and Hayden's conversation from the other morning, he wasn't gay that's all there was too it, he knew for a fact because one night Mason took him to a gaybar for teenagers and he mingled with a few of the boys there, none of which did anything amazing to him; in his mind Liam believes she's simply letting herself down easy with telling herself that the boy she likes is in fact gay.
"Hey Li," Jessica calls out with a large grin already on her face, it's pretty clear she isn't over getting Theo's numbers the other day, she's even dressed different which everyone thinks is an after affect of talker to her celebritiy crush who more than likely told her she looks amazing before leaving for school this morning - a pair of blue trousers and a crop-top is her usual attire, but today Jessica's chosen to wear a black thigh length skirt with a lace up red top, something she's never considered wearing before.
"Hi," waving back Liam rolls his shoulders and heads inside, not really stopping to chat.
Mason turns up after Liam a few seconds later followed closely by Hayden who looks even worse for wear, both smile at them Liam and Jessica as they catch a glimpse of them turning around in the corridor no doubt looking to see where they are, jogging to catch up with the duo, Mason rests a hand on Liams shoulder giving it a quick squeeze whilst Hayden gives them both a quick hug, her hair almost falls into Liams mouth as he yawns tiredly; none of them were really morning people, let alone early morning people that have to go to school five times a week.
Avoiding seniors and other students as he went, Liam trudges back down the busy hallway to meet his friends after dropping his lacrosse kit into his locker, Coach also reminds him when their next game is. Tired and stiff from the side effects of sitting in a stone cold bath for more then three hours, he wants nothing more then to head back home and sleep the rest of the week away.
"Hey Dumbar! Get your self loathing ass over here" yells an all too familiar voice, Gabe.
Looking for his friends desperately, sperficially Hayden whose alread fought with Gabe before over something he said about Liam, he notices them just out of ear shot chatting away with their classmates, shit.
Pushing through group of students far taller then him, Liam finally manages to emerge from the crowd and in front of Gabe, his eyes are already focusing on the poorly laid floor, stains and cracks littered the tiled floor that appear noticeably discoloured, Gabe's tall and terrifying, not like the seniors in Beacon Hills High, but it was enough to give everyone in his year nightmares, "what do you want Gabe?"
"Where's Nolan?" Gabe hisses angrily, not caring if he gets up in the boys personal space.
"Nolan," Liam repeats with a confused expression, it's unusual for Gabe to want to know where someone is who's inferior to him, "I don't know, he's none of my responsibility, what's it to you?"
Shoving Liam up against the wall, and pinning him by his neck, Gabe looks around for any teachers as the boy struggles to breathe, "listen here you little shit," saliva fell on Liams face as Gabe basically spits at him, "Nolans been getting bullied by seniors, you and I both know how bad that can get, now he's the new kid and as much as I hate to say it, I don't want him getting hurt, now where's Nolan?"
"I don't know! Now let me go!"
Economics is one of Liams most challenging classes of all time, Scott, Stiles and Lydia did warn him about Coaches way of teaching and how difficult he can be on occasion, and today unfortunately was one of them days, noticeably frustrated, Jessica pulls out her phone from the back of the class, using her bag as cover she tells him to calm down, based off his past history with getting frustrated, she wants to make sure he doesn't break anything, like the desk or maybe Coachs neck.
Liam
Jessica:
Calm down, I know this class is difficult but it'll be over in just under 30 minutesDon't glare at me like that!
I'm just trying 2 help u, remember last time?
Almost dropping her phone when Coach looks over at her, a squeak escapes from her lips and a faint hint of red crosses over her cheeks, "is there a problem Roden? Do my lessons bring that much boredom to you that you'd rather be on your phone instead of listening to Coach talk?"
"No Coach, sorry," dumping the gadget back into her bag Jessica sinks down in her seat, Hayden, Liam and Mason risk a quick glance at their friend, she's as red as a cherry.
Class seemingly goes on for an eternity, students who couldn't grasp the work look morbidly depressed and in need of an energy fix, that's for those that are still somehow awake, so when the slamming of lockers can be heard echoing from the corridor, everyone hurries to catch a glimpse at the chaos, who can refuse a good school fight?
"What kind of fuckery is this?" Liam laughs wholeheartedly, up against the lockers that line a majority of the walls is a senior, his fists gripping at the black fabric that's wrapped around Gabes torso, Nolan quivers in the corner against the lockers with a bloody nose and busted lip that looks painful to touch, many students begin gathering around and making cocky remarks and silly bets about each boy, grabbing a handful of tissues from the toilets, Mason hands them to the injured boy, keeping his eyes locked onto Gabes flexing back muscles.
Pinning the senior to the lockers, Gabe spits harsh words into his face and chooses to ignore Coach and the others around him completely, he continues to tighten his grip making the supply of oxygen limited, "do something" Jessica pushes at Liam like he's some kind of super hero.
"Like what?" He yells irritatedly, this was way out of his league.
"I don't know, Liam but you're good in these situations."
"I broke a fight up one time, and it involved Mason whom I care about dearly not some senior that bullies us, if your so worried about it, you do something!"
Pushing students out of his way and clearing a path for himself, Coach eagerly grabs ahold of Gabes collar, tugging him backwards and into the crowd as he yell, "can you kids stop reminding me why I drink, every single day. To the principals office now!"
Sitting on one of the benches for lunch, Liam scowls angrily at Jessica whilst she types happily away on her phone, no doubt talking to Theo about today's recent events when Liam would've done the same thing once he gets home, now he'll have nothing exciting to talk about, Mason and Hayden sit uncomfortably as the tension between them all grew.
"Did Theo agree to help out with your homework this week?" Mason asks as he tries to make conversation, clearly the subject was poorly chosen.
"Yep" Jessica beams proudly without looking up.
Snapping out of his thoughts, Liam stays motionless with his mouth agap, had he been listening properly or what, Theo doesn't do homework for anyone but him.
