Dumping the last black bag full of broken glass and ruins into the bin outside the backdoor, Liam returns inside where Theo and Corey wait patiently for him to say something. After Noah and the paramedics leave, Liam doesn't utter anything to them, other then asking how Theo is because of his black eye, Liam ambles along doing tasks to clear the house up, but feels like a zombie in the process, or a puppet on strings.
"We should call that girl we saw today," Corey points out in a hushed whisper.
Glancing towards Theo and Corey, Liam chews on the inside of his lip whilst thinking about what they were previously doing before getting interrupted, he and Theo were sitting on his bed with a guitar in between, breaking up their closeness.
"I'm not calling Jessica, dude are you crazy, she's a control freak!"
He remembers Theo and Corey flirting, and being uncomfortable whilst they did so, nobody he knew ever flirted in front of him, apart from Stiles and Lydia and occasionally Scott and Malia whenever she visits.
"No, not her. The pretty girl that followed us here," Corey explains quickly to clear up any confusion.
"Lydia doesn't need to be here," turning away from the duo, Liam glances around the kitchen checking for anymore mess that he might've missed, swallowing quickly as images of what happened earlier engulfs his mind, Liam sighs wishing things could go back to normal, but what's normal? "Do you guys want a drink or maybe something to eat?"
Liam watches as both Corey and Theo jump in surprise when they hear his voice, they were probably thinking he won't say a thing for the rest of the day, yet he seems to have proven them wrong by initiating conversion, walking closer towards them and noticing some glass still embedded in the floor, he bends down just in front of Theo and picks up the shards, ignoring the blush creeping along his cheeks.
"Maybe somebody should be here, your in shock," bending down to help Liam pick up the glass and being careful not to tear his jeans, Corey notices that Liam isn't even shaking anymore, he's almost completely calm. "Or maybe your not."
"I'm fine, what happened earlier isn't the worse thing that's happened to me," glancing at Corey with a small smile, Liam notices the concern on his face and the fear in his eyes. "I learnt there was bad people on this planet at an early age, yes it still scares me but being scared won't make anything better, so I live with it day by day and hope that each day things get better."
The front door slams shut waking the three boys up from their deep sleep, looking around quickly, Liam notices he's fallen asleep with his head resting on Theo's chest, pushing himself away quickly he takes no time to notice the uncomfortable look on the older boys face.
"Liam!" The sound of footsteps fill the living room as Melissa rushes over, engulfing him in a hug, "I heard what happened are you okay?" Disregarding the two boys next to him, Melissa focuses on Liam and his oddly calm body.
The smell of Melissa's perfume is over powering, trying to find room to breathe, Liam ends up pushing her away slightly, rubbing his nose in an attempt to take the smell away, Liam makes it clear to Melissa that he didn't push her away out of rudeness, he simply just couldn't breathe, and having a lack of oxygen for anybody isn't good, usually it causes death. "There's a few things we need to...talk about," even thinking of how he's going to bring the subject up is difficult enough, "but I want to introduce you to some people first."
"I have noticed the two unfamiliar faces on the sofa, you should know better then to bring home people that aren't familiar."
Of course she's right, much to Liams dismay, grabbing Corey by the sleeve of his unzipped hoodie, Liam pulls him to his feet quickly, being careful to make sure neither of them lose balance, "this is Corey, he called the police and paramedics from my room and waited with me in the ambulance," reaching out for Theo who shrinks further into the sofa and out of Liams grasp, he stands up himself, contact free, "and that's Theo."
"I don't care what their names are Liam," Melissa scolds with her arms crossed firmly over her chest. "You should know better then to bring home strangers, do you even know anything about them, or who they're friends with, are you trying to get yourself hurt?"
"They know Malia and Lydia," swallowing the sensation of vomit rising in his throat from lying - although it's partly truthful - Liam can't help but feel sick, "Theo protected me against the brunt of Yandal's attack, the least you could do is show a little bit of gratitude, if it wasn't for him I could be in a lot worse shape, or does that not matter?" He snaps back angrily, for most of Liam's life he's been protected, kept out of the public eye by being warned not to interact too much, and he couldn't have new friends without them getting a background examination first, he's sick of it.
Everyone sits at the dining table in silence; they're mainly focusing on the food instead of each other, Corey and Theo sit on one side of the round wooden table, whilst Melissa and Liam - who were no longer on speaking terms - sit across from them, their argument leads to Melissa stating, 'if they're going to be in my house, under my roof, protecting my son...step son, then I might as well make them dinner.'
"Thank you for cooking us dinner, it tastes really nice," smiles Corey awkwardly, the only other audible noise other then his own voice is the sound of the wind blowing outside rattling the tiles on the roof, "it sure beats Theo's cooking."
"Dude, shut up."
Melissa looks up at the two boys, still trying to decide whether or not they were okay to hang out with Liam, she catches their eye and smiles politely, "you're very welcome, I'm glad you like it." Pushing her own meal around on her plate, her eyes quickly scan Liams completely full, mushed up plate of food, he's clearly made no attempt to eat anything, "you need to eat something," she whispers to him softly.
"I have eaten something, see the potato on the right has a chunk missing."
Theo glances over at Corey, he didn't much care for the fact that Liam isn't eating, and that the chunk missing from the potato was already there when his plate was set down, therefore meaning he hasn't eaten a thing, but there was something about the situation that told him he and Corey should go, maybe it's the nervous look in the woman's eyes when she glances at them.
"Look, we can leave if it'll make you feel better, we're sorry for intruding on you like this-"
"Do you know the name Grayer by any chance?" Melissa interrupts impatiently not really caring about what was being said before. "And it's important you tell me the truth."
