I woke up to an empty tour bus.
"Oh." I said while rubbing my eyes.
I poured myself a bowl of cereal and pulled out my phone.
A couple texts from mom, and a whole lot of emails.
Eh, I'll check 'em later.
But I better reply to my mom.
Mom: "Hey sweetie! How's work going? The boys giving you a hard time?"
I texted back.
"Sorry mom I just woke up. Yeah! The job is going great. The boys are just fine. I love you! Gotta go!"
I opened Twitter and checked my notifications and noticed that Luke had posted a tweet. I clicked on the notification.
It was a picture of me laughing at Michael on the ground, and Calum flying his taco through the air.
"Having fun on tour!" It captioned. "Can't wait to keep playing shows for you guys." :)
Aw. I smiled to myself and retweeted it.
I walked outside and walked straight into the building in front of me.
Suddenly I heard screaming, so I followed the sound of angry voices.
"Calum, calm down!" I heard Luke yell.
"I can't calm down! It's GONE. Do you know how upset this makes me? He asked, his face looking furious.
"We can buy you a new one." Ashton stated.
I walked in.
"Sorry to interrupt, but is everything ok in here?" I asked.
"No." Calum answered. "My bass is misplaced. And I think that someone stole it."
"Your bass?" I asked.
"Yes! Did you not hear me?" Calum replied.
"Calum, you told me to take your bass to clean it and tune it up.." I stated. "It's in my part of the tour bus. I woke up late, and I forgot to give it to you before rehearsal. I'm so sorry." I apologized.
Calum looked at me with sympathy and sadness in his eyes.
"Oh." He said, looking at the other band members, who looked back at him with disappointment on their faces.
I just stood there, looking at him, tears starting to well up in my eyes, because seeing Calum yell at me and his band mates scared me.
"Aw, no baby." Calum came over and gently hugged me. "No, don't cry."
"Great job Calum. You yelled at your girlfriend, and now you made her cry." Ashton stated.
"And the best boyfriend award goes to?" Michael asked.
I wiped the tears from my eyes, as Calum told me that he was sorry.
I sniffed and released myself from Calum's hug.
"Don't be hard on him guys. He freaked out because he didn't have his bass. He lost something he needed, and takes pride in very much. I understand. I forgive you." I looked up at Calum and kissed him on his cheek.
He smiled. "Ok. I'm glad your ok. I'm so sorry I yelled. I'm sorry guys, it could've been resolved without yelling." He apologized.
"It's all good dude." They replied.
"Ok I'll go get your bass." I said.
"I'll come with you." Calum offered.
"No I can go by myself, it's ok. You have to rehearse with the band." I replied.
"He looked at me with a pouty face.
"Fine." I replied. "You can come."
"Yes!" He remarked. "See you guys in a bit." He called back to the band.
"Yay. We get a break." Ashton said as he stood up from his drum set.
Calum and I laced our fingers together and held hands while walking to the bus.
"Ok, I still feel really bad about the whole yelling thing and I just want to say that I'm really, really sorry. I'm extra sorry." He said looking at me.
"And I already said I forgive you." I replied looking back up at him while smiling.
We walked in silence for a while. Finally I spoke.
"I'm very proud of you for calming down back there." I mentioned. "Finding out that something of yours is gone and you have no idea where it is, could be really scary."
"Thanks." Calum replied. "Your'e the one who made me calm though."
We arrived at the bus, and he let me go in first.
"Really?" I asked.
"Yeah. I don't know, there's something about you that just makes you so special. It's like, you help me so much, and you keep me under control and I'm really thankful for you Madeline." He stared into my eyes.
"I'm thankful for you too." I replied and kissed him.
He looked at me, for a moment, then spoke.
"How can you love a monster like me?" He asked.
We got up and headed to my section of the bus to retrieve his bass.
Wow. Dating me has actually made him realize that he has become a totally corrupted person. Ashton was right. He's opening his eyes to the reality of his attitude and to the sad reality of himself.
"I don't know. I guess I just have always loved you. I know that this isn't the real you, and with tender love and care, I can probably fix you back into being your normal self. It's a big job, but together we can do it. Along with the boys help of course." I replied.
I grabbed the bass and handed it to him. We started walking back to the front of the bus."Gosh. I'm so lucky to have you. I don't know how you haven't gotten sick of me yet, or even broken up with me!" He replied.
We exited the bus and started to walk back to the rehearsal room.
"Yeah." I smiled. "Your a jerk, but your my jerk."
He smiled and planted a kiss in my head.
I'm so happy.
