The next night was pretty unpleasant.
Michael and I could hear Ashton and Emily banging in their room.
"Ugh, when are they going to stop?" Michael complained.
"I don't know. Hopefully soon. I'm getting tired of hearing the bed slam against the wall." I said.
"Ok, we just need to talk louder to distract us from the sound of them banging." Michael said.
I tried to talk louder, not yelling talking, but just loud enough to drown out the sound.
"Is this good?" I asked.
"I think it's working." Michael responded."
"What do you wanna talk about?" I asked.
"Ok, let's get real about you and Calum for a sex, I mean sec!" Michael joked.
"Ew, you're gross!" I laughed.
"I'm sorry! I got distracted by Emily and Ashton! But seriously, do you and Calum like each other?"
"I don't know." I replied.
"Well, Calum talks about you all the time." Michael said.
"He does?" I asked.
"Yup. He usually compliments you, and then calls you a bitch. But at least he compliments you first!" Michael stated.
"Ok I'm gonna tell you the truth. And I would like this to be just between you and me, but we all know your a terrible gossip-"
"True" Michael replied.
"Ok. I like Calum. I think he can be sweet when he wants to be. But if he wants us to be a couple or whatever, he better step up to the plate and change his bitchy attitude and his bossy habits." I stated.
Michael looked at me and nodded.
I continued.
"But when he asked me to cuddle the night that he was drunk, and when we kissed the other night, my heart would flutter. Being wrapped in his strong arms made me feel at peace, and being kissed by him made me feel like I was flying. It all felt so right." I said.
"WAIT. You guys kissed? Where the hell was I? Why didn't you tell me-I mean us, the band?" Michael joked.
"Well I'm sorry I didn't think I'd have to check in with you every second of the day explaining my life." I laughed. "It was the night before your first concert on this tour."
"WAT THE HECK MADDIE THAT WAS SO LONG AGO." Michael laughed.
I laughed along with him.
"Speaking of Calum, where is that jerk?" I asked.
"Oh he went out shopping with Tina and Luke." Michael answered.
"So he basically volunteered to go third wheeling?" I asked.
"Yup." Michael replied.
Seems suspicious. I decided to call Tina.
I started to dial her number, when all of a sudden my phone began to ring.
"Hey Luke." I answered.
"WE LOST CALUM!" Luke yelled into the phone.
"Ok hold up, what do you mean you lost Calum?" I repeated while looking at Michael.
Michael looked back at me and shrugged.
"I MEAN WE LOST HIM. THE BITCH IS GONE." Luke replied.
"Why does that boy keep disappearing? Ok, did you try the iPhone tracker thing?" I asked.
"Yeah. But it's no use, he left his phone here." Luke replied.
"Ok where are you guys?" I asked.
"Uh, we're at that cute little store that sells jewelry and stuff like that. It's the one that Tina always talks about." He said.
"Oh you mean Sophie's on 49th street?" I asked.
"Yes that's it!" He replied. "We're there."
"Ok. Michael and I are on our way." I replied.
"Woah woah woah, wait what about Ashton and Emily? They could really help us." Luke wondered.
"Uh. They're...busy."
"Oh." Luke replied.
"Michael and I are leaving now. We'll see you guys in about 15-20 minutes." I hung up.
"Michael?"
"Yes?"
"We're going on a hunt for a lost Calum." I said.
"YES." He got up. "Let's go!"
As we walked out the door I spoke.
"I'm not even gonna try to interrupt Ashton and Emily to tell them were leaving."
"Yeah, let's just let them do their thing and we'll do ours." Michael agreed.
When we arrived to Sophie's, Luke and Tina were standing outside holding Calum's phone.
"Hey guys, any news on Calum yet? Or any hints to where he's at?" Michael asked.
"Well we have his phone, but it needs a word passcode to get in..so it's harder than the number passcode." Tina replied.
"Ooh, try 6969." Michael said.
"Tried it. It doesn't work." Replied Luke.
"Try, new band mates." I suggested.
Luke put in the passcode. "Nope."
"Ok, try bitch I'm a boss." Michael suggested.
We all looked up at Michael.
"What? He asked. "It could work."
Luke shrugged and put it in. "Nope, not that one either."
Luke typed in a word.
"Maddie."
It didn't work.
"His passcode isn't my name." I said.
"Wait." Said Luke.
He typed in another word. And Calum's phone unlocked.
We were in.
"What word did you put in?" I asked.
"Madeline." He responded.
I looked at him with a surprised look on my face.
"He chose your name as a password because it's the last thing we would guess, except for him, it's the first thing he would think of." Luke simply said.
"Ok, that makes sense." I replied.
We looked at his latest text messages.
The last person who texted him was some guy named Brock.
Brock: "You remember where to meet?"
Calum: "Yeah."
Brock: "Ok, we have the stuff, just come prepared."
Calum: "Ok, I'm excited to be joining you guys."
Brock: "As are we. See you tonight."
"Oh! I get it now. Calum only wanted to come with you guys so he could get a ride downtown. It all makes sense now." I said.
"Who's Brock? He seems like a lovely fellow." Michael joked.
"And what stuff was Brock talking about?" Tina asked.
"Aw shit." Luke said.
Calum is in deep trouble.
And it's up to us to save him.
Again.
