While the boys were performing, I decided to talk to the one person who knows everything about everyone, Sarah. Sarah was the biggest gossip. She was a young girl, probably about a year or so older than me, who had dark shoulder length hair and a beautiful smile. She told me that she had just graduated from beauty school and was looking for jobs, and then she got hired here as the backstage clothing consultant. She styled the boys' hair and bought new clothes for them. She's very good at what she does.
"Hey Sarah!" I exclaimed. "
"Oh, hey Maddie!" She smiled as she was rearranging beauty supplies and hair supplies, getting ready to tell the boys where to get their clothes when they come off stage. "What's up?" she asked.
Sarah is super sweet and one of my closest friends. I could always count on her for advice, and even though she loved to gossip, she could always keep my secrets.
I tried not to be too forward. "Uh, it's about Calum." I said. Too late, already too forward.
"Ooh, does someone have a crush on a certain band member?" She asked, one eyebrow raised.
"Um, actually, someone is the girlfriend of a certain band member." I replied, forgetting to tell Sarah about me and Calum dating.
"Aw!" She practically squealed. "You guys are dating? How come I didn't know about this?" she asked, giving me a confused and frustrated look.
"Sarah! I'm sorry! I should have told you, I was really busy and distracted-"
"I bet you were." she smirked.
"Sarah ew!" I screamed.
"What?" she asked.
I sighed. "Ok, your the first of my friends to know ok? I don't want the word to get out." I said.
"Honey, do you know who your talking to?" Sarah asked. "I'm the most definitely wrong person to keep a secret." she stated.
"Well you've kept my secrets before!" I said.
"Yeah." she replied. "But this secret...it's pretty huge and exciting."
"Ugh." I said. "Look. Just please don't tell anybody? The timing isn't right yet."
"Okaayyy." Sarah replied dragging out her voice. "I won't tell anyone."
"Thank you." I smiled.
Sarah spoke. "Calum would always talk about you while I did his hair, and then he would be like, 'but i don't like her' and I never believed it for a second." she smiled.
"Aw." I sighed.
"Okay, so what can you tell me about Calum?" I asked.
"Maddie, I think you already know about Calum." Sarah replied, a smirk spreading across her face.
"Omg, no, ew, stop Sarah." I giggled while she let out a loud playful laugh.
"I'm kidding!" She gently pushed my shoulder, and we lost it.We laughed so hard, my face turned a bright pink, while Sarah was gasping for air.
We finally calmed down, and Sarah spoke.
"Ugh, what can't I tell you about Calum. He's an asshole, no offense Maddie." She stated.
I rolled my eyes. "Remeber Emily?" I asked her.
"Yeah!" She responded. "Such a sweet girl. I can't believe she survived all of the crap Calum put her through. He was so rude to her."
I looked down at the floor, ashamed at Calum's bad behavior.
"But she's with Ashton now." Sarah continued. " And he treats her like a princess. Honestly I don't see how you could date Calum, unless he's magicaly changed somehow, which is highly unlikely." she rolled her eyes.
