CHAPTER 13

Jimin observed jungkook's face deeply.He took in every single detail from his side profile. Jungkook's eyes easily catched his attention when it reminded him of Diya's.He didn't know when a smile crept on his lips just by looking at the man beside him.

"I am sorry and grateful at the same time"
after a long time of practicing internally, jungkook finally said to jimin, eyes looking anywhere but him.

"what for?"

Jimin had an idea of why jungkook is grateful to him. But he genuinely had no idea why he is saying sorry at the same time.

"for saving us on that day". Jungkook paused for a second to finally look at jimin. "I am really greatful for your help Mr. Park"

"ooh."
Jimin nodded in understanding
"and sorry?"

"for everything I said to you at the cafe" Jungkook lowered his face feeling guilty. Jimin noticed the action but chose not to interrupt. "for shouting at you, blaming you fr everything when it wasn't your fault completely"

"Don't be" jimin replied looking at jungkook

"Huh?"

"Don't be sorry." jimin sighed and looked ahead.
"I know how you felt that day"

Jungkook looked up again in confusion. Jimin chuckled lightly seeing his expression.

"when I saw that guy trying to take Diya away, I was terrified and scared myself. Being a 'mere stranger' who knew her only for a week or two, the fear I felt was horrible. So, I can imagine how worse it has been for you, when you found out her lies to meet a stranger".

Jungkook felt a pang in his heart every time jimin used the word stranger to himself. Strange right? Initially it was jungkook who used the term for jimin and now jimin himself is describing as a stranger while jungkook is aching inside. the irony.

Jimin smiled at jungkook realising the turmoil inside his head..
"so, yeah.. Don't be sorry  since you are not at fault".

Jungkook was in awe. He is amazed at how kind and forgiving jimin is. He thought about the words tae and RM said about jimin and how right they are. He can see why they really treasure this person, right in front of him. Jungkook's eyes unknowingly started to explore the masterpiece of a man and he didn't know how long he kept starting at jimin, until he heard him clearing his throat.

"Um... Yeah.."Jungkook blinked and diverted his gaze from jimin.

"but You are not either"
He soon regained his senses and reasoned his point of view. Jimin just nodded to him.

Both of them sat there in complete silence for a very long time. Awkwardness was screaming in the air. Jungkook felt very strange himself that he is the one who approached someone he doesn't know personally. He felt a bit awkward but still felt happy at the same time realising that slowly he is getting over his fears.

On the other side, jimin had a lot of questions to ask at the male, but he was not sure if it will be like overstepping the boundaries. After all he is just a stranger right? And jungkook is here just because he felt grateful for the incident at the mall.

But then he doesn't know when will he get a chance to ask all those questions to him again. So, without thinking much he gathered all his strength.

"um... How is she?"

jimin asked jungkook in a very low voice. He finally managed to voice out his worry to the man.

Jungkook looked at jimin who was looking at his front straight ahead..

"Not bad", he replied as the matter of fact. He was worried, that if he explained everything It will be like blaming jimin again and again...and he didn't have that intention anymore. So he chose not explain further.
