Third POV:
(A/N: Its been so long that I had to reread the last chapter to write this one ;-;
Patton was regretting kicking his boyfriend's out. He was being stupid. The others didn't replace him. So why does it still feel like that? Patton sighed, deciding to visit the light sides for breakfast.
The first thing Patton saw when he appeared made him die inside trying to hold in his laughter. Logan's face was covered with whipped cream and Roman was holding a can and Virgil was holding a feather.
"Why would you wake me like this!? I never do it to you, do I?"
"No, you don't do it to us, but it was worth it" Virgil snickered.
"Worth what, exactly?"
"We get to see your face covered with whipped cream. Duh!" Roman giggled.
Logan sighed and finally noticed Patton. "Oh, Patton! How are you?"
"You kinda bailed on us in the stream yesterday," Virgil pointed out.
"And then Janus and Remus said you were upset about something and wouldn't tell them," Roman added.
"I'm a-okay, kiddos! I just came over to say hi and maybe join you for breakfast?"
"Of course, Pat. Carelessness is busy making breakfast in the kitchen. He can actually cool, unlike us!" Roman cheered, happy they finally got a decent cook.A few minutes later, everyone was chatting as they ate their breakfast. Patton was happy to be hanging with the light sides again.
The talking died down when the others saw two sides behind Patton looking angry. Yet, Patton had failed to notice them. He followed the others gaze behind him and shrunk back when he saw Janus and Remus' angry faces. He quickly tried to sink out to his room to hide again, but Janus grabbed his arm and had Remus hold him.
"Sorry to intrude on your conversation, but we need to have a chat with Patton," Janus growled.
Janus sunk out to the dark side hallway, followed by Remus who took Patton.Remus let go of Patton in the hallway of the dark side of the mind.
"Patton you need to talk to us. Don't push us away again. It won't help," Janus pleaded.
In all honesty, during breakfast he got to know the new side more, and didn't feel replaced. He knew his friends still care about him.
"It's fine, Jan. I was upset, but I've changed how I felt"
Janus sighed. "Have you? Don't repress your feelings. You can trust us!"
"Janus! When I say I'm fine you have to believe me! I know I can trust you both, but-"
Patton was cut off by a slap to his face. "Patton just tell us what's wrong so we can fix it!"
Patton and Remus were both surprised. Patton felt the side of his face, whimpering at the sting. Tears threatened to fall, but Patton didn't let them."You can't fix anything. You want to know what's wrong Janus? The fact that you just hit me! The fact that your pressuring me to tell you something that I don't want to talk about! Something that's passed!" Patton sighed, letting a single tear fall. "I'm going to my room," he said, sinking out.
"Pat…oh no. What have I done!?" Janus cried, realizing what just happened. Remus was crying and staring at the spot where Patton was standing. Janus paced back and forth, staring at his hand. He hit Patton!? The small, innocent, adorable Patton? Janus stopped pacing and fell to his knees, shaking.
Remus' thoughts came swarming in, ignoring his surroundings. The horrified look on Patton's face when Janus hit him. Could he have done something? With Patton~
Patton looked in the mirror of his bathroom. A red handprint was visible on his face. More tears fell from Patton's eyes into the sink. Why did Janus do that? He thought about all the times Janus was caring. He always helped with his feelings and anxiety attacks. (He does get anxiety attacks like Virgil but his are more feeling related) The time he and Remus asked to be his boyfriends.
Remus.
Was it safe to leave him with Janus? Why didn't he do anything? He just...stood their the whole time.Patton sighed and walked back into his room, changing into Remus' sweater and a pair of black shorts with yellow socks. He laid in his bed, staring at the ceiling until he finally fell asleep.
