(Chapter 9) How Fast the Night Changes

Y/n P.O.V

"Oh come on Y/n-Senpai. It'll be fun" KC says.

"I didn't even say anything"

"Kawaii-Chan knows that look" She retorts.

"Yeah we all do" Teony says. Followed by everyone's nod of agreement.

"Okay shut up. All of you" I say with aggression evident in my voice as everyone forms a, sort of circle. Aph sits next to me and I gesture to KC to sit to the other side of me when suddenly Katelyn sits there instead. I give her a confused look and she looks away shyly for some reason. Then Garroth asks Aph if he can sit where she's sitting and Aph just nods. Then Laurance sits down between me and Garroth. After some more shuffling around, it ends with me in between Laurance and Katelyn with Lucinda next to Katelyn and Garroth next to Laurance.

"So does everyone wanna continue playing musical chairs or should we start now?" I say clearly pissed that I couldn't be with Aph and KC who clearly needed me cause they're new. Though they are sitting next to each other so it's not as bad as can be.

"Sorry" Laurance and Katelyn both day at the same time followed by them both leaning behind me and staring at each other.

I lean back as well and sing "what you doing" while looking back and forth at them.

"Nothing" they both spit out as they sit up normally and so I do the same.

"Katelyn. Truth or dare?" Nicole shouts.

"Truth"

"What happened between you and Jeffory. I know you two broke up a few weeks ago but why?" Nicole asks.

"I changed my mind. Do dare" Katelyn says nervously.

"Please Katelyn. I actually really wanna know this one. You don't have to if you really don't want to but I might help get closer or something" I say hoping to get a response.

Katelyn looks away. "Fine. Me and Jeffory both decided to break up cause he realised my mind was elsewhere and I didn't wanna keep him in a relationship that wasn't going anywhere" She says trying to hide how sad she was. I shuffle over to her and put my arms around her letting her head rest on my shoulder, which was a bit weird considering she's taller than me. I felt a sincere smile creep it's way onto her face as I put one of my arms on her head, much to the dismay of Laurance who seemed to be getting annoyed at her for some reason.

"Well how about a lighter one" Teony cheerfully says "Aphmau wasn't it? Truth or Dare?"

"Urrr truth" Aph says more confidently. Seems like she's settling in quickly.

"How'd you know Y/n?"

"We met on an online game. Me, her and this other guy, FC, all meet while doing a quest with a bunch of other people, but while everyone else left once they finished. Us three stayed on till all of us were done and realised we were a good team so we did more stuff together and started talking. Till eventually me and Y/n opened up to each other and I found out soon after I was going to the same school she was at" Aphmau explains with the normal amount of confidence I'm used to with her. I'm so proud.

"Cool, I never really understood the appeal of online games but it's good you two found each other. Now Laurance truth or dare?" Lucinda says.

"Dare"

"Spicing it up. Nice. Now I dare you toooo....." Lucinda trawls off to think.

"Back away from my Y/n" Katelyn whispers under her breath so that no one could hear her. But she seems to have forgotten that he's lying on my shoulder and so I heard. I decided not to say anything and maybe bring it up later.

"Kiss Y/n" Lucinda says.

Katelyn's grip on me tightens as Laurance looks at me. I feel a slight bit of blush grow on my cheeks as I look back at him and nod. I shut my eyes and he leans in. Katelyn try's to get up but knowing she's gonna let her anger get the best of her I hold her to my shoulder. I feel Laurance's face right next to mine. Then, he leans to the side and kisses me on the cheek. I feel a slight bit of relief as he didn't overstep. As he sits back to where he was I give him a shy smile and make no attempt to hide the blush growing on my face. Katelyn leans up with rage beaming off her face which is only rivalled by the anger beaming off of KC's face. I look over to Laurance to see him with a smug grin on his face which quickly disappears when he notices me looking at him. I pout at both of them, for acting so immature. I realise that somethings gonna happen between them if I don't get there mind off whatever's bothering them and as I look at Lucinda she realises the same and starts chuckling.

"What's that for?" I ask.

"You're doing that thing with your face again" She says as she chuckles even more.

"The angry pouting thing?" Garroth asks.

"Awww I love it when she does that" Teony says.

"I know right. It's really cute" Dante says.

"Kawaii-Chan thinks it's super adorable when Y/n-Senpai pouts" KC says.

"Yeah it really is" Katelyn and Laurance both say as they get lost in thought. Everyone else continues talking about my pouting as I look over to Lucinda and we both share a successful nod at a plan well executed.

"Okay. Shut up. All of you" I shout a aggressively.

"Okay I got one. Y/n truth or Dare?" Dante asks?

"Truth. After what just happened, imma avoid any dares"

"Smart move, smart move" Dante says. "So, what happened between you and Gene?"

A look of anger claws it's way onto my face. I look around the room and then take a deep breath. "We used to be boyfriend and girlfriend" I say followed by everyone's gasping faces. "We started dating around Easter but I broke up with him just before the summer. I was nice at first but I soon realised that he didn't really care about me, that's when it became toxic. It was never abusive or anything like that, it was just that our relationship became completely physically and no matter what I said or did, I would always just end up in his bed in the morning. Eventually, cause of my Mom and Garroth, I got the strength to brake up with him. He's the reason why Garroth can be so protective of me"

Everyone just looks on in silence. Clearly unsure of what to say. "But that's all in the past, now who's next?" I ask and we continue to play and eat through the night. Till eventually we all realise that we should probably go to bed considering all the snacks are gone and we're all getting tired. Laurance, Dante and Travis all go with Garroth to his room. Vylad goes to his and me and the girls set up sleeping bags in my room.

"Urrr guys. I got a slight problem" Lucinda says.

"What's that?" Teony asks.

"Well I wasn't sent any of the details like the rest of you. Katelyn just asked me to come along. So I didn't bring a sleeping bag"

"Oh sorry about that" I say.

"It's alright. I can just sleep on the sofa or something"

"Y/n-Senpai's bed is big enough for two people. Lucinda-Chan could just share with Y/n-Senpai"

"I mean if you're okay with it?" I look at Lucinda shyly.

"I am if you are" Lucinda says blushing slightly.

"Cool" I say quietly as I feel blush grow on my face.

"Then it's settled. Now go to sleep I'm tired" Nicole says as she gets in her sleeping bag. Soon everyone does the same.

I look at Lucinda and gesture for her to get in and we both walk over and get in at the same time. We both shuffle around a bit till we find a comfortable position, and when we do, we both look straight to find that we're inches away from each other. Neither of us move and we both slowly drift off to sleep.
