This oneshot is about arson. It is not meant to promote the crime, so please don't do anything illegal.
"Good evening everyone," Diavolo greeted from his student council seat. "I'm sure you're all already aware of why this meeting was arranged." We all in fact were aware. Throughout the Devildom, fires were burning across the land. It sounded sort of funny, since there's supposed to be fires all over "hell". It truly was abnormal though, there were no reasons these fires were starting. The only places they burned were abandoned buildings, where there were no wires or electricity to set off a spark, or storms where lightning could strike.
"Maybe there's homeless people taking shelter in the buildings and they're trying to keep warm," Satan suggested. "Or it's an arsonist," Lucifer reasoned. "Well, we need to figure this out, otherwise the fires may start to occur in town" Asmo added. I kept silent. After all, what could a powerless human like me do? "(Y/N), what's your input?" Belphie asked. At first I was stunned, I didn't really have an input. So I just said whatever came to mind first. "Maybe Satan's right, after all people without homes need somewhere to stay and a way to stay warm right?" Everyone seemed to think for a minute, then Diavolo spoke up again.
"Well I was glad to hear everyone's input, we'll begin an investigation soon and regroup once we've found evidence." With that being said everyone got out of their seats and we began our way home.
"Oh isn't it scary?" Asmo asked. "All these fires starting out of nowhere. What if it is an arsonist? They could easily burn down our house." "Not likely, who in their right mind would burn down a house with the seven most powerful demons in it?" Mammon explained. That seemed to calm Asmo, and the rest of the walk back home was in silence.
Before everyone could go off to do whatever they wanted Lucifer stopped us. "I don't want anyone going out, if an arsonist truly is the cause of all this then I don't want one of you in the building he or she may burn down next." Everyone reluctantly agreed, Mammon and Asmo seemed the most upset, and then we all went off in different directions.
I walked into my room and shut the door. I laid in bed, thankfully it was already 12. I waited patiently, pretending to be asleep. Lucifer always did his room checks around this time. Being that my room was closest to the stairs he always checked mine last, then either went to sleep or spent the whole night doing paperwork in his office. As if on cue, my door opened and the light from the hall entered my room. I waited, listening for the click of my door closing. Finally I heard it and the light from the hall was shut off, one part down one more to go.
I got out of bed and grabbed my outfit for the night. I usually stuck to dark colors since it made sneaking around easier. I threw on my black hoodie, my black ripped jeans, and a chain dangling on my left side. I threw on short combat boots, it was easy to run in those without spraining my ankles. Lastly, I picked up my mattress and grabbed the grey Polaroid camera and small zippo that rested there. I took one last glance at all the pictures that laid underneath the mattress taken by my camera, then put the mattress back in it's place.
I walked over to my door and placed my ear to it. I didn't hear anything, which was my green light. I walked over to my window and cracked it open enough for me to slip out. Being that I was on the second floor I had to mind my step or else I'd get hurt. I balanced on the window seal, then slid the window closed. Once I was sure I left no trace of my departure I jumped for the tree near not to far away. With practiced precision I climbed down the tree and ran as soon as I hit the floor.
I had been doing this for quite some time, so thankfully my stamina had gotten higher than it used to be. I slowed my run to a jog once I was sure I was out of sight of the house. "Where to today?" I said to no one in particular. I began to walk, wandering through the woods. When I first arrived in the Devildom, I never would've dreamed of walking into the woods alone. I had learned how to keep from getting lost though. When I first started venturing into the woods solo I created a way of knowing where I was. I would mark the surrounding trees. It was never a noticeable mark, all I simply did was burn a small piece of the bark at the base of the trees. This way I knew how to get out of the forest, or in.
