The guards bowed as I walked past, I nodded back and put a hand on Max's shoulder.

"What's going on?" I asked and Max looked at me and sighed.

"Rouge" he said pointing at a girl who the guards held, and I frowned. I started walking towards her but max stopped me and I looked at him and sighed.

"What?" I asked him and he looked at the girl then whispered to me.

"She's my mate" he said, and I looked at the girl and walked towards her again.

"Name" I said in my alpha tone to her, and she blinked.

"A-Avery" she stuttered, and Max started walking towards us, but I stopped him by putting my hand in the air and he froze.

"How did you become a rouge?" I asked and she looks at me, she doesn't say anything, and I frowned. "If the guards weren't holding you, would you tell me?" I asked and she nodded a little bit "and you promise not to run?" I asked and she again nodded. "Let her go" I said, and the guards hesitated but then let her go. "Now... how did you become a rouge?" I asked and the girl exhales.

"I ran away from my old pack" she said, and my eyebrows caved in, Avery looked at the ground.

"Why?" I asked and Avery exhaled again.

"My dad beat me" she said in a whisper. I caught it but no one else did which is good.

"And that's how you become a rouge?" I asked and Avery nodded. "Why did you come here?" I asked and Avery looked up at me.

"I ran into another pack, and they told me to come here for a fresh start" she said, and I nodded slowly and walked over towards max.

"I don't think she knows that you are her mate Max" I said slowly, and Max blinked.

"But..." he started to say but I shook my head.

"Don't, I'll make sure she is welcomed" I said and turned back to the guards who were not letting her in, and I frowned. "Let her in" I said.

"But alpha-" a guard started to say but I growled at him.

"I said let her in" I growled out and they let her in. "How old are you?" I asked Avery.

"21" she said, and I nodded. As we walked towards my house Avery and Max were with me and everyone was bowing, but when they smelled Avery, they would growl. I growled at them, and they stopped.

"Pack meeting in an hour!" I yelled "spread the news to everyone else" I said, and everyone hurried off. "Max leave us" I said, and Max hurried away. I grabbed Avery's arm lightly and pulled her towards the pack doctor.

"W-where are you taking me??" Avery asked and I kept walking.

"Don't worry no one will hurt you here, I'm taking you to see my uncle about your beatings" I answered back and walked straight into the pack doctor's office.

"Alpha" people said and bowed as I made my way with Avery to my uncle. I pushed his office door open, and he stood up.

"Luke what did I tell you about-" he stopped short when he saw Avery "what's going on Luke?" he asked, and I sighed.

"Uncle Josh this is Avery and I need you to take a look at her. Her father beat her, and I need to know how bad it is" I said, and Josh nodded.

"Of course, right this way Luna" he said, and I growled.

"She's not my mate or the Luna" I said, and Josh nodded.

"My bad, right this way miss" he corrected himself.

"I'll stay here and wait" I said and sat down in a chair. Half an hour later Josh came walking in and sat at his desk and looked at me. "Well?" I asked and he sighed.

"It's not as bad as you may have thought. She has some old bruises, and some scars but nothing major" he said, and I nodded.

"Good Max would be less anger with that news" I said, and Josh raised an eyebrow. "Avery is-" I started to say.

"I am what?" Avery asked and we both looked at her and I sighed.

"You are good" I said and smiled, I stood up and walked to Avery. "Come on I'm sure my sister's left some of their clothes that you can fit in" I said and walked out of Josh's office with Avery behind me. We walked straight to my house and upstairs to my sister's old room. "You may change into some old clothes of my sister's I'll be downstairs waiting for you. But we must hurry there's a meeting in half an hour" I said and walked downstairs and sat down on a couch. Five minutes later Avery comes down and I stood up. She came to me as I walked out of the house. I walked straight to the pack house where everyone was waiting.

"Alpha what is going on?" Natsu asked and I walked straight to the front with Avery behind me. Everyone was talking low and whispering and I let out a low growl. My mother and father were on the side watching this.

"As of today, we will be having a new member" I said, and everyone went into uproar, and I growled making everyone stop. "There is a reason why I'm letting her join and it's not because she is the Luna which she is not" I said "I hereby accept Avery to join the Greenland pack" I said "if you choose to accept it" I added and looked at her, she nodded.

"I accept" she said, and I nodded.

"If anyone causes you trouble talk to me or Max the beta" I said, and she nodded. I smiled and turned back to my pack.

"And one more thing!" I said and everyone looked at me. "My two sisters will be here tomorrow for my birthday in 2 days be prepared for that please, that's it" I said, and everyone walked out of the pack house. I looked over at Max and frowned. 'Tell her or I will' I said through a private link to him, and he walked up to Avery.

"Avery" he said, and she looked at him "do you know what mates are?" He asked and I face palms. Avery frowned and shook her head and I blinked.

"What?" She asked and Max looked at me and back at Avery.

"Mates, the other half of your soul, the perfect soulmate" he said, and Avery shrugged.

"I love that kind of love, I only read about them though" she said, and Max looked at the ground.

"Avery you are my mate, we are mates" he said, and Avery looked at him with a blank expression.

"So that's what that smell is I thought my wolf was going crazy and talking weird" she giggled, and Max looked at her in awe.

"Avery you are the beta female" I said, and Avery looked at me and blinked.

"I mean it makes sense... My father was the beta at my old pack" she said, and my hands went into fist.
