Max started to chock on some food until Avery helped him out, and I looked at my uncle and aunt.

"This is Avery, a newest member of the pack" I said and looked at the table.

"And my mate" Max added "so she's the beta female" he said, I nodded and kept eating.

"Oh my! Zack our baby found his mate" my aunt Bella said and I frowned. Uncle Zack nodded slowly and we kept eating.

"I think river may be your mate Luke" Lizzy said gigging and I frowned.

"What makes you say that Lizzy?" I asked looking at her and she smiled.

"You two had a great bond when you were 17" she said and I frowned more.

"Doesn't make her my mate" I said and kept eating. I finished eating before anyone else and I sat there listening to the conversations they were a having. Eli and Emma were talking about things, Lizzy was talking to our parents about Chris's pack, max was talking to his parents and his sister about Avery, John and Vald were talking to each other about things. I sighed and leaned back in my chair.

"Hey you good?" Max asked and I nodded. "You sure?" He asked and I nodded again.

"Yeah" I said and looked at him, I stood up "I have work to do" I said and walked out of the dinning room.

"Wait Luke!" Max shouted at me but I was already in my office with the door closed. I sighed and sat down at my desk and started looking at some paperwork. Then my mind wondered to another world and I exhaled and closed my eyes, there was a knock at my door and I got up to open it.

"Can we talk?" Avery asked and I nodded letting her in and she walked in, I shut the door and sat behind my desk and looked at her to talk. "Is there something wrong?" Avery asked and I shook my head "are you sure?" She asked and I looked at the paperwork.

"I'm positive Avery" I said "have you talked to Max about your beatings?" I asked and Avery shook her head "why not?" I asked and looked at her.

"Because I'm scared of what he will do" she said and I frowned.

"Avery Max won't do anything, I will, I'll make sure he won't do anything" I said "besides I have known him since he was a little kid, he's a good person and does the right thing" I said and she raised her eyebrow.

"How-" she started to say but I held my hand up.

"Why else did you think he was there with my family, he is my cousin after all" I said and she gasped, I nodded.  "Anything else?" I asked and she shook her head and walked towards the door but stops.

"Just know that things will be better" she said and walked out of my office, and shut the door. I sighed and leaned against the back of my chair. My mind wondered to somewhere else again and I didn't hear Blake, Cael or apollyon yelling at me.

'I swear to God Luke pay attention' Cael said and Apollyon gasped.

'Cael swearing to God is not okay especially when you are swearing to him' Apollyon said and Blake chuckled.

'he wasn't paying attention it was the only way' Cael said 'please forgive me lord' Cael added then everything went quite.

'what?' I asked and Cael exhaled.

'I swear he's stupid' Apollyon mumbled and I frowned.

'I am not stupid' I muttered and Blake laughed.

'yo Luke you are need you at the west boarder' max said and I got up. I walked straight to the west boarder and looked at Max who was standing there looking at whatever was there. I looked out and frowned.

"The bloodshed pack again?" I asked and Max nodded. "I thought my parents killed their pack off?" I asked and Max nodded again.

"That's what I thought but then they came and did this" Max said pointing at a female that was killed and I sighed.

"Great" I mumbled and turned around "someone clean this up" I said and walked away. Max was behind me and I frowned. "Anything else?" I asked and before Max says anything a guard got my attention in the link.

'alpha there's a girl on the east boarder she's badly wounded I think she's a rouge or a human I can't tell' he said and I growled.

'I'm on my way' I said and walked towards the east boarder of my land with Max behind me, there was a girl standing there panting. Once I got close Blake went crazy and the girl fell, I ran and caught her.

'mate' Blake said and both Cael and Apollyon gasped, I growled and held her.

"Luke you need to take her to Josh before it's too late" Max said and I growled at him and picked her up, I went quickly to Josh and walked straight to a bed and set her down and Josh ran in.

"What happened?" He asked and I looked at him.

"Don't know she was at the east boarder then she fell she needs treatment" I said and Josh nodded then pushed me out into the hallway. I sat there waiting for what felt like 6 hours, Josh came out of the room and nodded.

"She's fine" he said and I started walking towards the door but Josh stopped me. "But... She doesn't remember who she is or what she is, she's not human though" he said and I nodded again.

"Let me see her" I said and Josh let me through, I walked in and she looked at me.

"Who are you?" She asked and I smiled a little.

"I am Luke, Im the one who brought you here" I said and she blinked.

"Where am I?" She asked and looked around. I exhaled.

"You are in the hospital, in Greenland" I said and she blinked. "What's your name?" I asked and she shrugged.

"I don't remember" she muttered and I nodded a little.

"Can you tell me what you do remember?" I asked and she shook her head. "Why not?" I asked and sat down next to her.

"Because I don't remember anything" she said and I exhaled again. "Why do I have this voice in my head?" She asked and I smiled.

"That's your wolf, no need to be afraid, she's there to help" I said and she blinked and I smiled.

"She's repeating one word" she said and I waited for her to continue "mate" she said and I chuckled. "What does she mean?" The girl asked and I kept chuckling.

"Your soulmate, it's someone your meant to be with" I explained and she nodded.

"Is my 'mate' you..?" She asked and I laughed but nodded.

"Yes I am your mate, as you are mine" I answered and Max came in.

"Alp-" he started to say but stopped as I glared at him. "Uh nevermind I see that you are busy" he said and I frowned as he walked out.

"Who was he?" The girl asked and I sighed.

"My cousin" I said and rubbed my face and she nodded.

"What he was he saying before he stopped?" She asked and I blinked.
