Lilly's feet pounded into the soggy grass and her heart pounded in her chest as the carbon dioxide left her mouth in rushing waves, as she ran for her life. The idea of looking back crossed her mind, but the screaming words of her mother echoed in her head. Run!

The world around her was made up of tall black figures that stretched high above her head. Darkness surrounded her like a blanket. She could see only a few feet of wet grass around her, everything else was pitch black.

As Lilly ran farther away from where Jasmine and Ethan stood, Jasmine continued to talk to Ethan.

"I actually didn't mean to bring you back, but when I started to notice that Lilly was going insane, I realized something was up," Jasmine explained to Ethan, "It wasn't until I brought her to the hospital after the fire, that I realized you were still alive".

"You didn't mean to?" Ethan repeated.

"Honestly, I didn't know if I wanted to bring you back at first, because I was so mad about what you had done to Lilly, but when I realized that I had messed up and that you were still technically alive, I was relieved," Jasmine said as she looked at him with teary eyes.

Ethan's mouth formed into a tattered smile.

"But, I am not going to throw out my child for you," Jasmine said as she straightened her posture.

Ethan's smile disappeared. "What do you mean? You let me torture her for days before you decided to do anything about it and now you're telling me that you are not getting rid of her?"

"Like I said, I didn't know about you until the hospital," Jasmine responded.

"I am not going to be a dad!" Ethan shouted, "Kids are disgusting creatures that only live to suck the money out of your wallet!"

Jasmine launched a hard left fist into Ethan's rotting jaw.

"How dare you!" Jasmine yelled.

"Why did you tell her to run? Unless you didn't want her to trip over a rotting tree and hit her head on a large rock? Ethan questioned.

"I told her to run because you were going to kill her!" Jasmine said, as tears formed in her eyes.

"I still will! I should be the only love in your life," Ethan said, as he looked in the direction that Lilly ran off.

As soon as the direction of Ethan's eyes locked onto Lilly's path, Jamine noticed. She twisted her head to look in the same direction he was looking, causing her to immediately look back at him.

"You don't have to kill her, for me to still love you!" Jasmine stated, as her eyes studied his face, trying to predict what he was going to do.

"You can't love us both," Ethan replied.

"Ethan, what are you going to do?" Jasmine asked as her voice quiverred.

"Don't worry, she tripped," Ethan said, with a twisted smile.

"Ethan, no!" Jasmine shouted in a commanding voice.

Ethan glanced over at Jasmine, the twisted smile still spread across his decaying mouth.

"Only one," Ethan replied, before sprinting into the woods, following Lilly's path.

Jasmine stood still as she watched Ethan disappear from her sight, and she let Ethan's words sink into her brain. "Only one"

She shook her head, before whispering to herself, "I can love both".

Jasmine looked out into the direction where Lilly and Ethan ran, before quickly running off in the same direction.
