It was late Saturday afternoon as the last rays of the afternoon sun illuminated her face, almost giving her a natural glow, as Kelsea walked the streets of Downtown wearing a long sleeved romper that hugged her petite body exposing her legs and paired it with boots. She let her auburn hair down with loose curls at the end and finished it with a rose gold clip to keep her side bangs in place. Unknowingly, a driver in a red sports car parked across the restaurant she was walking into was eyeing her until she entered the door of restaurant. He got out of his car and gave a sly smile while looking towards her direction as he grabbed his phone to call someone.
Kelsea's college friends waved at her from the al fresco dining of the restaurant that faces the road. Tall shrubs and flowering plants provided some privacy as they seated at one of the round tables at a corner adjacent to the road.
"I hope I'm not late! I miss you both, so much?!" Kelsea hugged her friends as if she hasn't seen them in a lifetime. The recent events in her life made her just want to spend more time with them instead.
"You look like a darling doll in that dress?!" Audrey remarked
"Thanks, Audrey! You both look so pretty, it's like we plan this day and coordinated our outfits." Kelsea chuckled happily.
"Sweet romper dress checked but what's with the sudden missing us mood? Something's not right. You only act like that when something's up?" Mia asked suspiciously as she handed a sweet tea for her friend that she ordered for all of them while waiting.
"I'm fine... it's just a lot of pressure lately." Kelsea replied as she took a deep breath while accepting the seat from her friend. At the corner of her eye, she spotted someone familiar across the street then turned back her focus to her friends. Anyway, she's here to take a break from all her recent life dramas and even her test review. Simply, to just enjoy the present moment and have a good time with her long time best friends, Audrey and Mia.
"Alright since were all here.. I have a some big news?!" Mia exclaimed
"Does that big news include a ring or a positive pregnancy test?" Audrey teases
"Audrey?! Don't spill out my dreams in public! Sadly, neither. Though I won't mind a ring as long as it is spelled Bvlgari with a diamond of course?!" Mia responded
"I'm moving to Singapore." She added
"Where the heck is that?" Audrey asked as her eyes widened while taking a sip of her drink.
"Are you kidding me? Where's your geography when you need it?" Mia replied, teasing back at her friend.
"Uhm, nope. I only know Seattle, New York and Paris. Too bad, I'm not as smart as you Mia." Audrey sarcastically rolled back her eyes as a waiter came to hand them the menus.
"It's in Asia! It's like the new Hong Kong these days. Sheesh?!" Mia exclaimed back as she grabbed the menu abruptly and just focus on it.
"That's exciting and really far from here.. like very far." Kelsea respond enthusiastically. On second thought, that's like the perfect location for me to move to. A place that not everyone from here knew or heard about. To go off grid, to be gone and forgotten. To start again.. page blank.
They each gave the waiter their individual order as Kelsea continue to sip the sweet tea her friends ordered for her. She's not into drinking cocktails early in the afternoon and even in the evening, occasionally, she would just have a glass of wine.
"Well, I'm not leaving this town, EVER." Audrey remarked with a big smile.
"Edward and I will be celebrating our 3rd anniversary soon and I got the feeling, it's going to be lucky number 3 for us?!"
