The day had come it was early Saturday morning.
"Mummy, mummy wake up". Mitch said jumping on his mum. Marie opened her eyes and looked at him.
"Mummy". Mitch said giving his mum a big hug.
"Mummy it's my birthday". Mitch said. All excited jumping on her bed.
"I know. And what would birthday boy like for breakfast?" Marie said.
"Pancakes and sausage". Mitch said. Marie sat up and looked at him.
"You know as it's my birthday. I though could do and have that at McDonald's". Mitch said looking at his mum with puppy eyes.
Marie shock her head.
"Alright. I don't see why not. Go and get your shoes on and I will throw some comfy clothes on". Marie said.
"Yes,love you mum". Mitch said getting off the bed and running to his room. Marie couldn't help but laugh. Mitch hardly asked for anything. And today was his birthday.
Marie got up finding comfy jogging bottoms and top. She brushed her hair. Went to brush her teeth. Mitch came into the bathroom.
"Teeth now and will do them again when we get back". Marie said.
"Ok Mummy. Mitch said. Standing by his mum she watched him as he put the tooth paste on his favourite tooth brush. And started cleaning his teeth. Marie stood there watching him. He had always been independent. Even though sometimes he would try but ended up asking his mum for help.
"Do my teeth look ok?" Mitch said showing his mum his teeth.
Marie bent down and had a look.
"They look lovely". She said giving him a hug.
"Let's go". Mitch said. Running out of the bathroom.
Marie followed him getting bag and phone. Leaving their home. They walked to the car.
Unlocking it Marie put Mitch in first and made sure he was safe. Marie got into the drivers seat.
"Ok ready". Marie said.
"Ready". Mitch said.The drive to McDonald's was ok. Mitch was singing to the radio. Marie looked at her birthday boy. Pulling into the car park. She parked the car. Getting out Mitch waited for his mum.
Walking into the place. They stood in the queue.
Marie looked down at the boy next to her.
They soon ordered and went and sat down waiting for the food. Soon it arrived and Mitch soon started eating.
"Mum". Mitch said taking a bite of his pancake.
"Yes sweetie". Marie said.
"Am I still seeing daddy today?" Mitch said.
"Of course. Do you want me to text him to make sure?" Marie asked.
She sense a little bit of nervous with her son. She didn't know why.
"Yes". Mitch said.
Marie took her phone out and brought up Dylan's number.My gorgeous wife ❤️❤️:
Hi Mitch wants me to make sure ur still picking him up this afternoon."Ok done". Marie said putting her phone down. The boy nodded and carried on eating.
Dylan was awake. Looking at the ceiling. Today his son was 5 years old. Suddenly his phone went off reading the message. He began to worry.
Dylan:
Hi yes of course. I will be at your ex's for 1pm like we agreed. Is he ok?
Please tell him happy birthday from me.He put his phone down and looked at the clock no longer being able to sleep he got up and went and took a shower. He was spending extra time with his son today. He had a few presents for him.
Marie finished her phone and saw the message from Dylan.My gorgeous wife ❤️❤️:
Hi he's ok. We are in McDonald's having birthday breakfast. Why don't u ring and speak to him.Dylan:
Oh good. Are u sure?Marie looked at the reply and smiled at her son.

Yes give us 5 mins to get back to the car and u can talk to him."Mitch. Do you want to talk to daddy before you see him later?" Marie asked.
"Yes yes". Mitch said.
"Ok eat up and we can go back to the car and you can talk to him. How does that sound?" Marie asked.
"Ok". Mitch said. Eating his food.
