'kid come to the compound after school. fury said there was a surprise for us?? dont question me, i dont know either' tony's text to peter, read. peter furrowed his brows, surprise?

"yo, penis! who you texting? your best buddy tony stark?" flash annoyingly taunted from across the cafeteria.

actually, yes. peter thought.

"oh wait, you cant! because you don't actually know him!" flash laughed, again, annoyingly.

"shut up flash. I'm too tired to hear your bullshit of a voice right now." mj sneered, not even sparing him a glance as she was still buried in her book.

flash mumbled an incoherent 'whatever' and walked away grumbling.

"thanks, mj"

"hey, happy!" peter happily said as he hopped on the black audi.

happy rolled his eyes but wore a small smile. he was slowly growing on the kid.

"how's your day, kid?" happy sincerely asked.

peter's eyes lit up, excited. "it was great! i aced my ap lit essay, didnt miss my train today, then i..."

"okay, kid, were here."

"thanks, happy!" he said, practically sprinting to the compound.

he didnt need a badge anymore, since friday can recognize him by face. so friday didn't say anything when he went through the scanner, and only talked to him when he went to the elevator. friday already knew where he wanted to go, avengers common floor, so the elevator just went up.

"hey, peter! welcome back! how was your literature essay? and should i inform boss of your arrival?" friday sweetly said. well, as sweet as an ai could get.

"hey, fri! i got an a on my essay! and, yeah, sure!" peter said, having a huge dumb grin on his face.

once the elevator doors opened, it wasn't the common floor. it was the meeting room.

peter furrowed his brows, "friday, why are we he-" he was cut off by tony coming up to him and putting an arm around the brunette.

"hey, kid. eye patch said to put this on, " tony said, handing peter his mask.

peter slowly obliged and put on his mask. what's the surprise?

once they were all seated down, nick fury came in the room.

"okay, avengers. so, the surprise is... a new recruit!" nick smiled proudly "she's pretty young, but very skilled and powerful. she's a great asset to the team."

"sorry, but how young is she?" steve asked.

"hm. about the same age as spidey over here," fury pointed at peter, "and its your choice, by the way, if you'd want to tell her your identity."

"whats up with us recruiting kids?" sam jokingly said, causing tony to glare at him. however, peter, who was lost in his thoughts, didnt hear him.

peter's eyes widened underneath his mask. the same age as him? cool! new superhero friend! he slowly pulled off his mask, nodding slowly.

"ok, so, here's agent hooke of shield, y/n hooke, also knows as miracle. ill leave you to her. y/n/n, introduce yourself."

"introduce myself?" a voice asked incredulously, "where am i? the first day of school? say my hobbies and dreams typa schtick?"

peter's eyes widened more, if thats even possible. he'd recognize that voice anywhere. y/n's here! and she's an avenger too!

as if she could read his thoughts, the girl walked in wearing a tucked in (your favorite band) tshirt in some darkwash straight legged jeans that are cuffed at the bottom.

"oh my god that's natasha romanoff aH," y/n muttered under her breath (only peter and nat heard), "im really awkward with this type of thing, so hi? im y/n. just turned 17 two months ago. guess im an avenger now, totally not freaking out." she awkwardly smiled, rubbing her nervous palms on her jeans.

"what do i do now? shake hands? bow??" y/n said to fury, who was by the door watching the interaction unfold.

"sit down" fury said like its the most obvious thing ever.

y/n obliged. and when she met eyes with peter, she smirked and cocked a brow which meant (peter was sure) surprise, bitch.

"i'm steve rogers, thats natasha romanoff, tony stark, bruce ban-" steve was cut off by tony,

"steve, pretty sure we dont need introductions." tony smirked at the girl, "right? okay. whats your favorite subject?"

"astronomy and algebra" the girl smiled, her sweet confidence suddenly crawling its way back "this really is like a first day at school, huh? subjects, really?"

"what's your iq?"

"idk, probably a negative value, to be honest."

peter tried to stiffle a laugh, but ended up sielntly wheezing.

y/n mock gasped at him, putting a heart on her chest. "you think my iq's funny, petey? damn, thought you were better than that."

"shut up, or I'll ignore you for 3 days" peter teasingly smirked, and watched as she glared at him.

it was one of her playful banter glares. he's one of the only people not affected by it. since other people cant decipher her playful and serious glares.

"wait, wait, how do you two know each other??" rhodey confusingly said, practically speaking what's currently going on the others' heads, pointing between the two of them.

"lets just say, he texted the wrong number a year ago, ended up texting me, and now were dating." she teasingly smiled, putting her chin on her palm, elbow set on the table.

"wait, kid, she's beanie?!" tony said, pointing at y/n, as the realization struck him.

tony would see him texting someone named 'beanie' on his phone, assuming she's his girlfriend, but he never confronted him about it. he was waiting for peter to tell it to him, but that was 5 months ago. he'd ask peter about his love life, but everytime he gets the same answer.
"same old, same old" and a shrug.

"yep, thats me! and now that they know, give me a hug, bambi"

the brunette boy chuckled and went up to hug his girlfriend for the first time. her hair smelled of watermelon shampoo, and her tickled pink perfume filled his smell. the warmth of her body, delivered by the hug, gives him familiar butterflies in his stomach. she's here now. in his arms.

he kissed her forehead, he could feel the girl's soft lips spread in a smile through his embrace.

oh, how nice it is to finally feel her. not through a screen, but here.
