it's the day.
it's finally peter's 21st birthday.
when he woke up, he got a phone call from may, and she greeted him happy birthday. since, peter lives with pepper and morgan in the cabin.
speaking of morgan, she busted in his room once he woke up. she told friday to tell her when peter wakes up so she'd be one of the first one's to greet him.
when they got downstairs, pepper greeted him with a kiss on the forehead while she was cooking pancakes.
and in the afternoon, the avengers and his friends threw him a surprise party to celebrate him being 21.
he even got to drink his first shot, but after that, he didnt drink much. he didnt like alcohol.
then, after they came home, it was 1am.
morgan and pepper were already asleep.
"opening file 'underoos 21st birthday'" friday said, mildly startling peter.
he furrowed his brows at first, but the name 'underoos' registered in his brain.
a hologram recording then played from the ironman helmet he kept in his room.
it was tony, sitting in his bed. peter's heart immediately dropped, seeing his father figure.
"hey kiddo! if your watching this, happy 21st birthday! i'm sorry i couldnt be able to be there. i'm guessing im dead, and i'm sorry for that. kid, it's not your fault. my death. okay? it isnt. so if your still burning yourself down because of that, stop it. you know why i did it? its because i did it for you. for pepper, for morgan. so pepper can have a son, so morgan can have a big brother, so you can have the family you deserve. even if i'm not apart of it, living wise, just know I'll always be proud of you. i always have been, and i always will be. i love you, son. happy birthday." the hologram shut off.
at this point, tears were flowing out of peter's eyes uncontrollably as he sobbed.
"i love you too, dad."
