Day 3: Swapped Roles

✨✨Prettydolls as Uglydolls and Uglydolls as Prettydolls!✨✨

I had another idea for this one that I really liked, but I decided that one would work for a different day of the week.

About the Uglydolls (who are now prettydolls):

I drew them as prettydolls, not humans but the cookie-cutter, cut-and-paste prettydolls. What I mean is that I tried to stick close to the five basic designs that the individualization scanners spit out, so the uglies don't look quite as quirky as they usually do (But if you guys want, I could draw human versions, with the odd teeth and eyes and such, after Uglydolls week is over). There are a few variations though, because after all, they are main characters and thus just as entitled to unique designs as Lou and Mandy are.

I feel like Ox's eye here is probably something that happened after he was created, like he used to have two eyes but then disaster struck. 😂 Or something...

Speaking of Ox, I want to credit _Subnormal_Kawaii  

for the idea of dolls having facial hair, and to briefly apologize for giving Ox basically the same beard as their character Haseem 😅😂. It just seemed to suit Ox, somehow..

An ice man/ice woman used to be the person to deliver blocks of ice to the townspeople, when people had iceboxes and not refrigerators. Like the milk man, but for ice.

Wedgehead being a food critic is a reference to a story from the comic anthologies where the male Wedgehead became an expert food critic whenever he stood on his head, but it only worked with cereal 🤣.

Btw the thing on Lucky Bat's nose is a band-aid 😂.

About the Prettydolls (who are now uglydolls):

Lou's design does not belong to me, it belongs to rozybob.2 on instagram.

I drew Tuesday in this picture modeled after a special edition version released of a few Uglydolls called "Ugly Buddies", where the doll is hugging a miniature version of a different doll (for example, there was an "Ugly Buddies" doll where Wedgehead was holding Ox, and another one where Wage was holding Babo, and so on). In this case, the smaller doll happens to be Lou. (Lou does not appreciate this concept one bit 😂😂🤣.)

Meghan is a double-sided doll, like Bop'n'Beep and Turny Bernie. Side 1 is the Meghan we saw in the Uglydolls trailer. Side 2 is the Meghan from the movie.

The designs for the tenors is based on the generic "boss" character that David Horvath brought out in his Ugly Guides when he needed to fill up crowd scenes.
