The Uglies are made from different materials than the pretty dolls, they feel softer, warmer. Squishier. Cuddlier. Like, if you've ever felt the SquooshMallow brand stuffed animals, that's about what they feel like.
I guess it's sort of semi-canon bc in the movie you can tell from the textures they put on things that the uglies are at the very least fluffier.
