Welcome Aboard

In her now empty dorm room, Kaitlynn Bryn Kirk was packing up her things, every memory she had of her college years. She was a stunningly gorgeous young woman of 19 years of age going on 20 years in a few days with long,dirty brown, straight hair with side bangs over her left eye, her eyes were the color of the ocean and were almond shaped, her face was small with cheekbones, a small nose, thin lips, and small ears. Her body figure was curvaceous and she was in amazing shape due to her excessive workout. She had her hair up in a high ponytail and she was wearing a grey cropped tank with a red and black boys flannel with jean shorts and rubber bracelets. She didn't look like the normal 'girl from the future' she looked like she was still from the 21st century. And that's how she liked it. She threw on her flip flops and took the last box down to her car. She put in her earbuds and started listening to her music as she entered her car and drove off. Then her phone went off. She paused her music and she checked the caller ID.

Jim

Jim? As in her big brother Jim? She answered and put it on speakerphone. ''Hello?'' she said, her voice so soft and so sweet, like an angel's voice.

''Hey baby sis'' Jim said, Kaitlynn hearing and almost seeing the smile on his face. Kaitlynn hadn't heard or seen her big brother in almost 5 years just hearing his voice sounded weird to her.

''James?'' Kaitlynn asked.

James chuckled and he said ''That's my name. How have you been it's been what? Two years since I seen you?''

''5 years James'' Kaitlynn said sternly.

James hissed and he said ''God I'm so sorry''

''Why did you call?'' Kaitlynn asked as she started driving.

''Well I was told by my Captain that I should bring you onto The Enterprise for bonding time. Would you want to?'' James asked hopeful.

Go on the Starship Enterprise with a brother you haven't spoken to in 5 years? It was a gamble but she sighed and said ''Sure''

''Yes! Alright I'll have my Captain be at your apartment in 5 days OK?'' James asked.

''Sure''Kaitlynn said. Then they both said their goodbyes and Kaitlynn hung up. Maybe now this would be time for her and James to bond after all this time. She smiled as she drove to her apartment

5 days later*****

Kaitlynn was sitting on the front steps of her apartment with her black dufflebag next to her. She had her dirty brown hair down and she was wearing a purple and grey boys flannel with a black crop tank, faded baby blue skinny jeans, and knee high black converse sneakers with straps and buckles on them. She ran her fingers through her hair and waited for Jim's captain to come and pick her up so that she could be brought to the Starship Enterprise where her and Jim would finally be reunited. She saw a hovercar coming her way and Kaitlynn stood up. The grey hovercar stopped at her doorstep, was parked and a man got out of the hovercar. As the man got closer, Kaitlynn realized it was Jim in his uniform. She stepped down and approached Jim. They walked up to eachother and then Jim wrapped his arms around her waist and Kaitlynn wrapped her arms around his neck and they hugged tightly. She felt tears on her neck and she was confused. Kaitlynn pulled and looked at Jim and she said ''James are you OK?''

Jim sniffed and he said ''Yeah I-I'm fine''

Kaitlynn sighed and she said ''You know I know when you're lying''

Jim sighed and he said ''Yeah that's what makes you a pain in the ass''

Kaitlynn laughed an adorable laugh, which then caused Jim to laugh as well, the first time he laughed in 5 days. Kaitlynn then said ''Tell me''

Jim sighed and he said ''My Captain who was suppose to come pick you up, he uh'' then he cleared his throat and he said ''He was killed by a man named John Harrison''

The name rang a bell to Kaitlynn. ''I know John Harrison, he spoke in my class one time. Seemed to take a particular interest in me'' Kaitlynn said.

''Yeah well thank you for putting me at ease little sis'' Jim said sarcastically as he placed his hand on his sister's back and shoved her playfully to the hovercar. She went into the car and Jim grabbed her dufflebag ,threw it in the trunk, got back into the driver's seat and drove to the ship.
