(imagine meeting Jack at a dinner party)

Your father Thatcher Karsten threw a dinner party one evening for all of his associates, you were invited to attend. You had no choice but to go since you were the daughter of a very powerful and rich family. You came to the party dressed in a blue dress, black high heels, and paired it with diamond earrings that your mother had given you as a gift. You wore a bit of makeup and carried your purse with you which contained your phone and wireless earbuds. You put one of them in and hid them behind your long h/c hair. No one could tell that you were wearing them. You didn't want to be at the party because you were worried about school, you were studying to become a photographer. It was a dream of yours to take professional photos for famous rock bands while they were on the road on tour. You checked your phone constantly for emails from your professors to see if anything had come up, so far there wasn't anything but you kept checking just in case. You sighed and walked outside to the balcony to get some air and to be alone for a while.

As you looked out at the view of the city at night you heard footsteps coming from behind you, you ignored it and focused on the view of the city and the music you were listening to. You checked to see what song was playing and it was invincible by skillet. You loved that band a lot. "Ah your a skillet fan?" said a voice. You turned to see a handsome young man looking at you. He was 6ft tall, short brown hair, brown eyes, fair skin, and dressed in a gray three piece suit. "It's my favorite band, I've been a fan since I was a kid." you said. the man nodded. "I'm a big skillet fan myself, I saw them in concert many times." he said. Your eyes lit up. "How many times?" you asked. "4 times." he replied. "Nice, I saw them 3 times. I hope to see them again this year. that's if they go on tour." you said. "I hope they do too, I'd love to see them again." he said. He stood there in silence for a second before realizing something. "Oh where are my manners, I'm Jack Mcallister." he said extending his hand for you to shake. "I'm Y/N Karsten." you said shaking his hand. "Your Thatchers Daughter aren't you?" he said. You nodded. "I am." you said. "I'm your fathers lawyer, I've worked for him for a long time. He's a good man." he said.

"He is." you sighed. "Something wrong?" asked jack. "It's nothing....I'm just worried about college, I have a lot of things coming up and I told my father that I didn't want to come here in case something came up. I really want to get my degree without having to worry about anything else." you said. "Sometimes we have to find that balance between two things that are important, have time for one thing and then another." he said. You smiled. "Yeah, you're right. I guess I'll have to come up with a way to balance it all." you said. "Well if you ever have trouble figuring it out just let me know. I'd be more than happy to help you out." said jack. You smiled. "Aw....thank you you're very kind." you said. You looked at the time. "I better get going, it's late and I got class in the morning. It was nice to meet you Jack." you said walking away. Jack stopped you. "wait y/n." he said. You stopped and turned around. "Yes?" you said. "Will I see you around?" he asked. "You may find me if you like, in fact take this." you said handing him a card with your number and address. "my door is always open, stop by anytime." you said. "See you around." Jack watched as you left the party. He would definitely come and visit you.
