Gwen

"Seriously?! Ikaw na si Hayley? Yung kaibigan kong chararat noon?" I unbelievably said.

Muntik na niya akong mahampas because of my obnoxious remark. I burst into laughter when I saw how irritated she was. I didn't really mind giving that comment to her cause it was just a joke. Although, I know some jokes are really offensive and I know my limitations for that. I always beg for forgiveness whenever I exceeded my borders. I really want to change and I hate myself for making my friends feel bad.

I still value my childhood memories with Hayley. I have the best memories with her since we always play under the sun, run like there is no tomorrow, laugh loudly as we can. Back then, it really doesn't bother us if we reek of sweat. Having fun and enjoying those days were all that matters to us. On the other hand, I have my other best friend named Mariel. Hayley told me that she is still in Candon to have a short vacation. I doubt that she already knows that I already arrived.

"Grabe ka naman sa chararat Tep! So chararat pa rin ba ako ngayon? Well, I doubt that! Halos magka-level na nga tayo ng ganda 'day!" She cheerfully said.

"Sige na nga. But seriously, ang ganda mo na Hail!!" Sabi ko saka ko siya niyakap.

"Na-miss kita Baks! Paano ba naman kasi panay nalang sa messenger ang usap natin! Tapos napaka-dalang pa. Ang tamad mo pang mag-video call." She pouted.

"Sorry na. I'm just busy."

"Ay 'di bale na. Basta ngayong nandito ka na, susulitin na natin Baks. Tapos, dito ka na rin daw mag-aaral? Ihh, excited na ako para sayo." Sabi pa niya.

We shared a lot of stories hanggang sa naisipan niya akong ilabas. And right now, a lot of things changed. Hindi na ako sanay! Mabuti nalang, I have Hayley with me so she would help me get familiarized with our place again.

"Mamaya manood tayo dito. May battle of the bands! Tradisyon na rin kasi iyon kapag fiesta dito." She said, being so excited.

"Band? Anong interest ko doon?"

"Sarcasm ba yan? Hoy Tep, hindi ko pa nakakalimutan na magaling kang kumanta. Imposibleng nawalan ka ng boses sa pagtanda mo." She rolled her eyes.

"I haven't sing for a while so... baka hindi na ako marunong."

"Oh my gosh! Sumali ka! Dali, ire-register kita!" She said.

Hinila niya ako palapit doon sa may registration area. I knew that the registration for later is still on-going. I resisted because I am really afraid. I doubt myself if I could ever sing again. I've been hiding my talent for a while since I don't want anyone to know. Hindi naman sa may masamang memory ako sa pagkanta that's why I don't want to cultivate it.

It's just that I am not confident with my singing.

"Hail, ayoko! Manood nalang tayo. Legit, hindi na ako confident sa pagkanta ko." I resisted.

"Aish, sige na nga! Hindi kita pipilitin pero baks, sayang!"

"Saka nalang." I smiled.

"Really, omg! Support!" She said.

Hail told me to wait here first since she will be buying food for us. I insisted to come with her pero ayaw niya kasi mabibilad lang daw kami sa init. I didn't mind, actually. I plan to do a vlog sana kaya lang I am hesitating. I am still adjusting to the place and I am not yet really comfortable with it.
