(Third person POV)

"James, get out! We will be late for the meeting!" Lily shouted, knocking the bathroom's door furiously. James was hogging the bathroom and they were about to get late for the first prefect meeting since the one on the train.

"Just a second Evans." "Sorry!" He said, finally coming out of the bathroom.
They ran to the classroom where the meeting was being held. Only two minutes were left for it to start.

"Look who's finally here." Said Snape, coldly. "Were you that eager to see us Snape?" Lily retorted as he flinched when she called him Snape. He glared at James, but said nothing more.

"So let's start the meeting, sorry for the delay." James said, even though we were only a minute late. "Potter here, was hogging the only bathroom." I said playfully. "Oh c'mon Lily, I said I was sorry." He replied, grinning. "Oh really? Are you seriously sorry?" I said, grinning back. "Well I don't know about Sirius but I am sorry for sure." He said, shrugging. "Ugh don't start with that stupid pun, Sirius saying that continuously is more than enough." I said groaning.

"Ahem." The Ravenclaw prefect cleared his throat. "Let's start with the meeting?" He said. Lily felt her face redden as she realised that they were still standing in the middle of the meeting room. Everyone was staring at them, Remus and Alice were smirking knowingly.

When did James Potter and Lily Evans become friends? Everyone thought. Sure they had seen her laugh occasionally with him but they never realised that Lily Evans could have a friendly conversation with him for two minutes straight. Wow that must be a record.

After a few discussions about their duties, the meeting ended and everyone started to leave the room. "Don't wait for me, I need to see a few things, I will join you later." Lily told the two marauders. James and Remus nodded and left the room.

As soon as they left the classroom, Severus came in. He finally had the opportunity to talk to Lily alone, that is if she would talk to him willingly though.

"Lily." He said, "Can I talk to you?" He asked. "Isn't that what you are doing right now?" Lily replied, rudely. A look of hurt flashed across Snape's face at her rudeness. "Look Lily, please stay away from that Potter and his idiotic friends, you have to stay away from him! I saw the way he was looking at you so lovingly." He spat. "You don't know them the way I do! That blood traitor will get you killed!" He finished, regretting the last sentence instantly.

Lily scoffed. "You lost the right of telling me what to do two years ago Snape. I'd rather be with idiots who look at me lovingly than you and that's saying something. He will get me killed!? Isn't the fact that I am a mudblood enough for me to get murdered?" Lily said, her eyes flaming with rage. "Oh don't make a face on the word mudblood." She said when she noticed his expression. "Isn't that what you called me yourself!?" She said, storming out of the classroom.

Why did all the prefect meetings end up with her having a fight!?

She reached her dorms common room and sat down by the chair near the fire place. Oh how she wished things could be normal again. But she knew they couldn't and she'll have to face that. James entered the Common Room and found Lily sitting on her favourite chair looking upset. He asked what happened but she didn't reply.

He sat in the chair beside her and pulled her into a hug, lightly patting her head. "It's okay, it will be fine, don't worry Lily. Whatever it is, it will be fine." He said softly. She closed her eyes, and melted into the hug, feeling content.
