They chose a white jumper with blue denims and a beige coat for if it was too cold outside, nothing fancy because they weren't even sure if it was a 'date'.

"Okay ladies it's time for me to go." Announced Lily. "Have a great time Lils!" Said Mary, excitedly. Lily smiled and nodded as she left the dormitory.

She walked towards the black lake with a million thoughts crowding her mind. What if James told her that the kiss was a mistake, that he didn't like her anymore. Or what if he wanted to ask her out?

She reached the Black Lake but couldn't find James anywhere. Oh this is even worse than I imagined she thought, he stood me up!? "Hey Lils!" Came a sound as suddenly a boy appeared in front of out of nowhere. "MERLIN! James you scared me!" Said Lily, as she almost jumped from the shock.

"Oh shush, come in the cloak with me." He whispered. "Okay why are we whispering?" She replied as they both covered themselves with the Invisibility Cloak. "Because where we are going isn't exactly 'Filch-approved'." James answered. "Classic James" Muttered Lily and James just grinned.

Lily's heart was racing as she followed James to wherever he was taking her, although the path they were taking seemed a bit familiar to Lily. "We're here!" announced James. "Isn't this the same place where.." we kissed, Lily said, though the last part was left unspoken. James nodded understanding what she meant anyway.

But as Lily went closer she was surprised in the most wonderful way to see that James had planned a picnic for them. On a bed spread was delicious food, there were beautiful candles floating around the area and bouquets of red roses were placed at the front side of the spread from where they could see a majestic view of Hogwarts. Although Lily had seen the view of Hogwarts from this spot, it still looked as magnificent as ever.

"James this is so..." Lily started but couldn't find a word that fit her feelings, "....beautiful." She finished. James had already taken a seat at their picnic spot and asked Lily to do the same. "C'mon I'm hungry." Said James and they started their delicious treat. "Oooh Cauldron Cakes!" Lily exclaimed like a child. "They are your favourite aren't they?" Replied James. "Yeah." Said Lily as faint blush crept up on her cheeks.

They sat there for an hour or so, eating their dinner, talking about anything and everything. It was no doubt the best 'date' she had been on,or whatever it was, she didn't care about that right now.

She has having an amazing time. She could connect with James in a way she could with no one even though they were what you would call complete 'opposites'. She was up he was down, she was east he was west, he was sky and she was ground, he was singing on top of a table at midnight, she was studying at the same table in the daylight, he was leather jackets she was a pastel colour, he was day she was night. but as they say you wouldn't know the importance of one without the other. The other wouldn't be as pretty without the other, for in some weird way they completed each other.

"James, what was....this?" Lily said as she pointed to their now finished meal and the roses in front of them. James looked at her, smiling that ever so wonderful smile. "It was date if you want it to be, you know since I didn't ask for your permission this time." He said, though the hope could be heard in his voice.

Lily pecked his cheek shyly as she said, "Oh it was a date, a good one if I might add." "Well then I might as well do this." James said as he leaned forward and kissed the red-head. They both melted into the kiss. He tasted like her favourite cauldron cakes, like....James? It wasn't describable because that's just how James was, so special that her vocabulary wasn't enough to describe him.

She tasted like the chocolate pudding they just had and something about it was so special that it couldn't compare to anyone he had kissed before. She was that chocolate cake you could never get enough of. She was so...Lily. She was one of a kind, not comparable to anything or anyone else.

They both pulled back and stared into each other's eyes for a minute. "So Lils, if you would allow me to, I could take you on more dates like this, I promise they will get better each time" He paused to add a wink, "If you say yes?"

Lily stared at him, her heart beating fast, she knew she wanted this, but why wasn't she able to say yes? She started, "Y-" but she couldn't, she just couldn't so she stood up and ran, she  ran, she couldn't believe what she just did, in the middle of the night, in a place where she could get detention she ran away from the boy she liked.
