Bell's POV

Today is Flynn and Chantal's engagement party it's later this evening, but Chantal had asked me to assist with waitressing tonight, which meant I had to work late. I already called Uncle Danny to come sleepover for the evening even though my dad insisted that he will be ok alone at home. "Don't think I don't know what you're doing, I know you're using Danny to babysit me. I'm a grown man that can take care of myself you know." He said to me earlier. "Don't be silly dad, Uncle Danny loves spending time with you, and remember, he lives alone, no family and no friends. It's good that he spends time here with you." I raise my point. Uncle Danny's wife passed away last year, they never had any children, his family is all from Kimberley, so they hardly ever visit.

"Dad I've already prepared supper, Uncle Danny just needs to warm it up and dish up, so there are some bread and cheese, you can make yourself a sandwich for lunch and remember to relax your back as well," I say as I go fetch my bag from my room. "I was thinking that I need to go and put some flowers on mom's grave, Danny mentioned he was going to tidy up his wife's grave today, so I thought that I will go along too." My dad says. I suddenly feel a bit overwhelmed with guilt, I haven't visited my mom's grave since I started working. "Oh? That sounds nice dad, do you need money to buy some flowers?" I reach in my bag and hand him taxi fare and enough to buy some nice flowers. "Bye dad, I love you." I greet and kiss his forehead.

I leave the house and head for Mike's taxi, Claudia left earlier because Nadia told her to come in a bit earlier to help with engagement party preparations. As we drive to town for the next 15 minutes, I think of Ben, he genuinely seems like a nice guy, and made me feel comfortable around him, he was not what I expected him to be, he made me laugh. Guys around here don't usually take the time to get to know the girls, I experienced something different with Ben yesterday. I don't know much about what love is and what it's supposed to feel like but I do know the feelings I have when I'm around him, makes me feel safe and warm inside. I can't help but wonder if he feels the same about me or am I just seeing things that aren't there, either way, it'll never work, he is leaving in a week and a half, not much can happen and he'll go back to his wonderful, exciting life and forget all about me.

"Bell!" Nadia greets me at the help desk as I tie on my apron. "You'll help in the Kiosk today and will be waitressing at the engagement party when we close later." She says. "Oh?" I ask. I only help in the kiosk when Sherry is off sick and Nadia confirmed it. Sherry is the cashier at the Kiosk and has allergies and it usually gets worse in the springtime. "Ok, No problem," I say. The kiosk is never that busy, it's mostly the guesthouse's guest buying. I'm about two hours into serving at the kiosk and then Ben walks in. He seems a bit confused seeing me at the kiosk and I can't help but giggle for the expression on his face. He walks over and I joke saying, "We don't serve breakfast at the kiosk, you need to sit at the tables and let the waiter take your order."

"Oh?" He asks and continues." But what if I don't want to sit down and breakfast, but rather something on the go?" I smile and say, "Don't be silly, we don't sell breakfast on the go, but you're free to have a snack bar and some orange juice, it contains all the healthy nutrients your body needs." I remember his half-naked body in the room and tell myself, "Not that your body isn't healthy." "Did I just think that?" I ask myself, I can feel my cheeks turning red and turn away to help another guest. To feel even more embarrassed the guest is buying condoms and I don't bother asking which brand, I just shove it into his hands. The poor guy looks surprised at my service but says nothing, pays, and walks away.

"So will you be attending the engagement party?" Ben asks. "I have to attend, I'm waitressing this evening," I say. Ben leans over the counter and asks," So what are you doing at lunchtime?" I don't know why he would ask me that, but my heart skipped a beat at the question, I tell him of what I usually do lunchtime with Claudia, but unfortunately, Claudia and I are shift changed a bit today, so she'll have lunch before me today.
