The shy merman never thought this day would come. A day when his family, and the love of his life would stand side by side.
It seems so long ago now the first time he came to land.
Against all odds, the shy merman left everything he knew behind to search for her. When their paths finally crossed again, they had to fight against wind and tide to stay together. But despite the many obstacles, they made it to the end, to the day they call today. The gift that is the present.
It took some time, but with practice and patience, everyone was able to adapt. Namjoon to land, and EunAe to the sea. Two worlds together at last. And now, they have a new addition to that. Their son.
Their little boy is the perfect mix of both worlds, able to live in both land and sea.
Add to that the friends and family they made a long the way. Their journey still long ahead.
There is a story that land dwellers like to tell.
Legend or story tells of a mermaid that fell in love with a prince, but things didn't work out for them in the end, and the mermaid met a tragic end.
However, there was a much lesser known legend out in the sea, a legend written by a fisherman who fell in love with a mermaid.
The story was left behind in the corner of a precious book store, discovered after some digging.
In order to protect her, he searched the seas. Searched until he found a safe place for her. She was the most precious thing for him on earth, his treasure.
Sad to say, they also parted ways. Despite their longing for each other, they each went their separate ways, never to see each other again.
Many times, the shy merman wondered as well, wondered if their story would meet a tragic end, but he is glad things didn't turn out that way for them. They somehow managed to break the cycle.
At one point, the shy merman too had to make a choice.
And so in the end, the shy merman walked away from everything he knew, fading into just that...
... A legend.
